Title (Making Predictions)

 Making prediction makes you think of what will happen next.


Your prediction is your own idea based on what you saw or
read.
 Remember also that even if your prediction is right or not that is
still good as long as you can explain why you made such
prediction.

Activity 3:
I. Look at the cover of our book, what do you think is all about the

picture and the title.

II. Read the paragraph. Guess what will happen next. Encircle the
letter of your prediction after the paragraph.

One day, Monkey and Turtle met on the way.


“Don’t hide yourself! Come and let us go find a banana to plant
again,” Monkey persuaded.
Along the way, they spotted a banana plant.
A. They left the banana on the way because they were lazy.
B. They took the banana and threw it away because they didn’t need
it.
C. They divided the banana and Monkey took the lower part because
he knew that the upper part will not bear fruit.

“Let us divide this banana plant. But, this time the lower part
will be mine and the upper part will be yours,” said Monkey quickly.
And, both went on their separate ways to plant their banana.

A. Turtle left his share of banana because he forgot about it.

Knowing that the banana will not grow, Turtle fed it to the
carabao.
Several months passed, “Friend, how’s the banana you
planted?” asked Monkey.
“I fed it to the carabao,” replied Turtle.
“Well, then let’s go and harvest the fruits of my banana plant.
I’m sure it has more fruits than the fruits of your banana before,”
boasted Monkey.
Upon reaching the place, Turtle wandered looking for the
banana when he heard Monkey yelling.

A. Monkey’s banana plant have bore many fruits because he don’t


know how to plant.
B. Monkey is very sad to see the banana he planted because it has
bore many fruits.
C. Monkey is very disappointed to see the banana he planted because
he don’t know .

“Why did my plant wither?” Monkey cried.


“Oh, no! exclaimed Turtle when he came close to Monkey.

“You planted it wrong. The roots should be the one buried in


the soil.”

A. Monkey ran away and left Turtle in the forest because


he is excited.
B. Monkey blamed Turtle on what happened to his banana because he
was the one who planted.
C. Monkey confessed to Turtle in all the bad things he did to him
because he realized that being greedy is not good.
“Is that so,” cried Monkey. “If only both of us planted this
banana, this might not have happened. I’m sorry for being boastful
and greedy,” he confessed.
Turtle knew that Monkey has learned his lesson so he led him to
his banana farm.

A. Turtle let Monkey climb the banana tree because he cannot do it.
B. Turtle did not share Monkey the fruits of his banana because he
loves him.
C. Turtle did not allow Monkey to climb the banana tree because he
has many monkey friends.

Turtle could not climb up the banana tree so he let Monkey pick
the ripe fruits.
Ashamed of the wrong things he did, Monkey did not eat any of
the fruits until he brought it down. And he and Turtle ate together at
the same time.
