Abstract.

An important part of physics deals with objects and systems that are at rest and that remain

in this state. This branch of physics is called static. Now it is necessary to take into account

the forces and their action on the bodies. Therefore, it is important to know the points of

application of these forces, since the type of movement or the resulting rest depends on

them.

Summary:

In classical physics, movement is considered to be a consequence of the action of

mechanical forces. The fact that a system is at rest does not indicate that forces do not act

on it, but that these are counteracted or balanced by others of its kind. This is the case, for

example, with a body resting on a horizontal plane, where the weight is compensated by the

resistance of the plane.

2.62 A movable bin and its contents have a combined weight of 2.8 kN. Determine the

shortest chain sling ACB that can be used to lift the loaded bin if the tension in the chain is

not to exceed 5 kN.

2.128 Member BD exerts on member ABC a force P directed along line BD. Knowing that

P must have a 300-lb horizontal component, determine (a) the magnitude of the force P, (b)

Analysis:

In the work of system in equilibrium we can interpret that the basis for solving these

problems is to take into account the free body diagrams and the dimensions that each

exercise presents, in order to determine the magnitude direction, position of each force, also

its components in (x) as in (y). And last but not least everything related to vectors, both

normal, as unit or in three dimensions. In several of the exercises it was observed that

concepts of trigonometry and the sine and cosine theorems must be had. With respect to

static, it shows a behavior in which the forces are in equilibrium, in the exercises performed

the value of the different forces so that the different systems are in equilibrium. By

applying these concepts to daily life, they can be used to understand how a force works to

keep a certain surface or body static or moving.

Conclusion:

With the exercises previously performed, we can observe the importance of a body's

balance calculations for real life. This type of calculation is more convenient for civil and

industrial engineering, and speaking of applications, they mostly serve for the construction

of mechanical constructions in addition to buildings.
