Version Date Summary of changes

2 07/06/2021 Final Version Created

Project Justification
A group of independent retailers from Leeds corn exchange wish to establish a joint e-commerce platform
that gives customers the ability to order their products and services online for click and collect, or book
appointments. Thereby grant them access to an additional revenue stream via online retailing.

Shops in the corn exchange specialise in high quality products and services that can’t be found elsewhere,
these retailers know that access to online markets is imperative to the growth of their business’. Creating a
joint platform will expose new and existing customers to the range of shops available, and the use of the
Corn Exchange name will create publicity, therefore increasing trade.

Due to the recent lockdowns, online shopping rates are growing by 129% week on week in the UK and e-
commerce has boomed worldwide. The system will therefore not only modernise the business model so
that retailers can continue to operate in the case of any future restrictions, but also attempt to massively
increase sales through a click and collect function.

Project Scope
Encourage new customers to join the online marketplace.
Increase the online orders to make up 50% of sales within 12 months.
To be able to easily order from specific shops within an online shopping centre. (By the end of the project)
