The government document containing proclamation no.1081 was written to proclaim martial law in the Philippines.
The declaration marked the beginning of 14 years of authoritarian rule, including 8 years of Martial Law, followed
by six more years where Marcos essentially retained all of his powers as dictator. Marcos established it to
suppress increasing civil strife and the threat of a communist takeover following a series of bombings in Manila.
On the other hand, the content of this document itself is genuinely authentic because it was performed and
executed during the implementation of Martial Law. It was authorized and signed by Former President Ferdinand
Marcos and acting executive secretary Roberto Reyes. The said document was publicly presented by the Official
Gazette- an official journal of the Republic of the Philippines.

Oral Traditions/Oral History

President Ferdinand Marcos, a former president of the Philippines, was recorded on the audio sound disc in 1967.
This oral history, in which former president Marcos stated the essential information in the Philippine history
during the interview of the Philippine Historical Association. The audio recordings were located at the University
of the Philippines Library.

An oral history of eyewitness people was recorded on an audio recording in the year 1945. This oral history stated
reports of World War II warfares, including American ground troops in Burma. William Wilson, an American
officer, noted the ill-treatment of the Chinese people in the occupied Manila by the Japanese. Canadian force in
Europe was also mentioned. The audio recordings can be found in the Library of Congress.
Artworks

1. The official painting of Coronation of the Virgin is located in the National Museum of the Philippines. The
painting depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary ceremoniously crowned by God the Father, God the Son, and God the
Holy Spirit as queen of heaven and earth in the form of a dove. It was said to be done during the 18 th century.
2. An official artwork entitled Ink fish by Ang kiukok is also located in the National Museum of the Philippines. Ink
Fish is an abstract figurative painting of undersea life with three skeletal fish as prominent figures and full of
colors. It emerged in the 1960s as one of the second generations of modernists.

Artifacts

1. A national museum collection called skull-cap was one of the earliest humans remains in the archipelago.
According to the said museum, it was found in Tabon Cave, Quezon Palawan, during 14500 BC.

2. An artifact called Lingling-o was now located in the National Museum of the Philippines. According to the
museum, Lingling-o, a kind of ear pendant fashioned from green nephrite (jade), is the Early Metal Age
characteristic trait. Ear pendants were recovered from Arku Cave in Penablanca, Cagayan, and from Uyaw, Guri
and Rito-Fabian caves in Palawan.
