Our financial aid program ensures that financial ability does not come in the way of
creating a truly diverse class.
To ensure that no selected candidate is denied admission based on their financial
situation, our admissions process is a needs-blind one. Information regarding the
financial background of applicants is only applied after the student receives an offer
of admission.

Financial aid is granted under two categories:

Need based: Dependent on annual family income

Needs-blind
Excellence based: Students with exceptional talent admissions
and/or achievements qualify for consideration

A storm is brewing
which, in the
not-too-distant future,
will well and truly
knock traditional
knowledge-delivery
institutions off their
pedestal.

The history of knowledge delivery, whether formal or adjunct, is strewn with

well-intentioned experiments that have come to naught or are so marginal in
their adoption that it makes no difference. This leaves the next generation with
largely two paradigms by which to benchmark them - ratings and recruitment.
These paradigms have little true bearing on how well an institution can prepare
them for the world they will step into tomorrow.

Pedigreed institutions claim they have the best knowledge delivery processes
when, in fact, they simply have the best filters to attract the most industrious
students who are willing and able to jump through the hoops that are placed in
their way.

All of this has led to a distancing of students from the real world at a rate that
has exponentially accelerated in the last decade. Revolutionary, era-defining
companies are starting to ignore graduation certifications and are setting up
their own metrics of measuring talent.

This will leave in its wake a whole generation schooled in yesterday’s methods
while the real world is on a different playing field altogether.

Atria University is an attempt to address this challenge of tomorrow by

stitching together disparate learnings into a single holistic process.

The devil is in the details. The next generation of learning experience has to be
created beyond the classic classroom instruction formats. It has to be powered
by technology in a way that enables peer-to-peer learning, allows for
individualized learning pathways. We have to not only nurture their curiosity
but also inculcate the rigor and skills of framing a problem, finding resources,
creating solutions, communicating and galvanizing opinion. We need to revisit
the evaluation process in a way that the learner can truly assess her own
maturity and proficiency by going beyond scores in exams and one-off projects.

Distilled to its core, the underlying theme is ‘learning to learn’, 24/7 and 365
days a year, at the student’s choosing.

If that is the only skill that a student takes away, I believe we would have given
him or her the tools to tackle tomorrow and provided a truly differentiated
offering.

This is the bedrock upon which we are building our university. For a number of
years now, we have been honing each of these aspects through various pilot
projects and they are now ready to come together under a single roof.

The goal is to empower citizens of tomorrow to navigate the fast-paced

disruptions the future portends. To nurture their abilities and help them take
flight. Most importantly, we are committed to fostering a tribe united by
mindsets and beliefs that can go out, navigate, and change tomorrow’s world
for the better, on their own terms.
