6 Why Oracle NetSuite
NetSuite is the industry's number one cloud business application suit that supports your entire
company, from enterprise resource planning (ERP) to customer relationship management (CRM)
to Web capabilities. NetSuite offers everything in a single, integrated and powerful solution.
Additionally, NetSuite enables you to make better, faster decisions through real-time business
intelligence.
Successfully executing your enterprise cloud ERP strategy means turning to the world’s most
proven, trusted and deployed cloud ERP solution— NetSuite. With more than 40,000
organizations and subsidiaries running NetSuite across more than 160 countries, some of the
world’s best-known brands trust their businesses to NetSuite and take their financial and
operational processes to the cloud.
NetSuite provides functionality out of the box to meet and adapt to a variety of industry
requirements, including yours. Whether for global software companies with advanced revenue
recognition needs, manufacturers or wholesale distributors with multi-site inventory and
production, professional services organizations with disparate professional services resources
and complex multi-currency client billing, or a retail business with multiple channels, NetSuite is
the only cloud ERP system with the depth, breadth and flexibility of functionality to meet these
needs. The functionality to support your particular business and industry has been built into the
core product from the ground up, not a bolt-on afterthought.
DESIGNED FOR A MODERN COMPANY Cloud-based, mobile-enabled and social, NetSuite frees
the modern business from antiquated PC-based, anti-social systems locked behind the firewall.
At its core, NetSuite provides a dynamic, easy-to-use platform designed for all users across a
global organization that can be accessed via any device, at any time.
A HIGHLY SCALABLE SYSTEM FOR GROWTH with the ability to quickly and easily add functionality
as a business grows and international capabilities including support for 190 currencies, 20
languages and automated tax compliance in over 100 countries to fuel global expansion.
BUILT-IN BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE that delivers a single-version of the truth and provides real-
time insights into key business performance indicators for a unified view of the organization.
A Market Leading ERP that is recognized by major industry analysts as one of the best ERP cloud
solution available in the market. Gartner has named NetSuite a Leader in its Magic Quadrant for
Cloud Core Financial Management Suites for Midsize, Large and Global Enterprises in its 2018
& 2019 assessment. In the ranking, NetSuite is one of only three solutions listed in the Leaders
quadrant and is the only Leader that serves businesses of all sizes across all major regions.
NetSuite has more customers using cloud financials than any other solution in the leaders’
quadrant. Similarly, in its Worldwide SaaS and Cloud-Enabled Midmarket ERP Applications
Vendor Assessment of 2017 & 2020, IDC placed NetSuite as the leader of the market ahead of
every other solution. IDC commends NetSuite for bringing a complete solution to the market
covering all business areas and especially that all of its modules run on a single/unified database
and a single code base which is an attribute that very few vendors can match. The figures on the
following pages provide a snapshot of the above mentioned analyst reports.

6.1 NetSuite Financials
NetSuite’s financial module delivers full visibility of an Enterprise’s financial position, reducing
the amount of time spent managing accounts and allowing more time devoted to strategic
decision making. NetSuite Financial consists of the following features:
Key Capabilities:
• NetSuite's dynamic General Ledger eliminates the need for manual journal entries by
letting users add custom GL impact lines to transactions such as invoices or vendor bills
across single or multiple accounting books, reducing the time and effort required for
account reconciliation, period close and audit processes.
• Finance teams can define unlimited custom General Ledger segments such as profit
center, fund, program, product line and more, in addition to the standard subsidiary,
class, department and location segments. This improves accuracy and saves time by
ensuring that General Ledger financial impact follows double-entry accounting principles
and balances across all segment combinations.
Key Capabilities:
• Streamline operations and instill corporate and fiscal discipline by automating the
retrieval and presentation of billing information from diverse sources.
• Generate recurring invoices for easy subscription management and send invoices by
email and offer even more payment options.
• Automatically post order transactions to general and AR ledgers with accurate tax
calculations on each invoice for automated tax processing and billing.
• Provide customers with self-service access to real-time information relating to purchase
orders, inventory and payment information.
• Get the insights you need—configurable dashboards, reports and KPI's provide a real-
time view into customer aging, invoice analyses, recurring invoices, deferred revenue,
exception reports to flag account anomalies.
Keystone
Key Capabilities:
• Automate the calculation of discounts and eliminate manual data entry and associated
errors and minimize the time and effort it takes to process bills from vendors.
• Simplify and automate exception processing when invoices do not match purchase orders
or receipts.
• Improve payment controls, no bill is lost, forgotten or paid twice and no fraudulent
invoices are paid with real-time visibility throughout the A/P process.
• Retrieve bills, item receipts, vendor contracts that are attached to each vendor and/or
individual AP transaction and improve reconciliation, streamline accrual processes and
produce more-accurate financial statements.
Key Capabilities:
• Access a complete solution for addressing critical planning, processing and reporting
requirements of global treasury units.
• Gain real-time insight into global transactions across bank accounts and credit cards.
• Monitor and forecast cash requirements, perform automated bank reconciliations,
distribute payments efficiently and securely and automatically generate accounting
entries.

6.2.2 Approvals
NetSuite offers two approval processes out-of-the-box. The first is a simple approval process
based on a dollar amount assigned to the employee. For more advanced approval processes,
businesses utilize the SuiteFlow approval routings that come with customizable sample
workflows. Workflows can be modified to consider aspects such as department budgets, location,
item type or project. The graphical nature of the workflow tool makes it easy to create, monitor
and maintain.
Keystone
NetSuite offers many native tools and features to help you make this happen including tracking
inventory in multiple locations, safety stock, re-order points, cycle counts, demand planning and
distribution requirements planning. Netsuite Inventory Management has the following
functionalities:
6.3.1 Replenishment
Maintaining the right amount of inventory to support service level expectations is critical.
NetSuite offers many tools to automate this process. Preferred stocking levels, lead times and re-
order points can be automatically calculated in the system, with suggestions appearing instantly
in the order items list. In our multi-location distribution requirements planning solution, more
advanced parameters help you balance demand and supply across the entire organization.
Keystone
6.3.3 Traceability
Companies require the ability to trace products from receipt back through their entire lifecycle.
With NetSuite, you can define inventory and assembly items as being lot or serial tracked. The
system will enforce the capture and identification of all related information on each transaction
to provide full traceability. The inventory detail screen lets you view your inventory by lot or serial
number and drill-down capabilities enable quick access to all related transactions.
6.3.4 Warehousing
NetSuite offers unique capabilities when it comes to tracking inventory across multiple locations.
The physical locations themselves can be hierarchical, allowing the creation of sub-locations.
These locations can then be broken down into bins to provide a more finite level of tracking. Once
the locations and bins are defined, any item can be stored in any location, which gives you a
holistic view of inventory levels across all physical locations.
Keystone
NetSuite has met a host of audit and security standards including SSAE 16 (SOC 1), PCI-DSS and
the US-EU Safe Harbor framework. In addition, NetSuite has modeled its security and risk
management processes according to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and
ISO 27000 series of standards. NetSuite guarantees an SLA of 99.5% uptime and delivers
unprecedented ERP availability with an average uptime of 99.96%, together with complete
performance transparency provided at status.netsuite.com. And for peace of mind, NetSuite’s
multiple data centers ensure the most stringent data management and availability.
