Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Board of Administrators has issued CDA-
Memorandum Circular 2013-22 mandating all cooperatives to create a Gender and Development (GAD)
Committee in consonance with the Philippines’ commitment to achieve the Millennium Development Goals,
specifically Goal 3, which “requires governments to promote gender equality and empower women”.

In this regard, CARCU will be conducting a training on “Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) for
Cooperative” scheduled on September 16-17, 2021 at the Cathedral of the Resurrection Church, Lower
Magsaysay Ave., Baguio City
The training programs aims to help primary member affiliates prepare their Gender Advocacy
Development Program.

The tentative training program is as follows:

Day 1: September 16, 2021

8:00 – 9:00 Registration and Opening Program

9:00 – 10:00 Gender Issues and Personal Commitment to Change
10:01 – 12:00 Gender Issues manifested in the Co-op operation
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch Break
1:01 – 2:00 Basic Gender Concepts
2:01 – 3:00 Why Gender & Development (GAD) in Co-ops and Memorandum Circulars (MCs) on GAD
3:01 – 5:00 Overview of the GAD Assessment Tool

Day 2: September 17, 2021

9:00 – 12:00 Workshop on Proposals for Gender Policies in Cooperatives
