Windows Update Program (MS17-010) Installation Procedure

[Purpose]
This procedure describes installation procedure of security update (MS17-010) provided by Microsoft for
ransomware so called Wanna, Cryptor, WannaCry, WannaCryptor, and Wcry.

[Necessary item]
Auxiliary storage device such as a USB flash drive
* Note: Be sure to conduct virus check for the auxiliary storage device to be used.

[Procedure]
(1) Check the OS of the computer used in the system (NIDEK product) onto which the security update
program is to be installed.
a．Click the “Start” button, point the cursor to “Computer”, right click, then display the menu and click
“Properties”.

b．Check the OS type and system type (bit) from the displayed information.

(2) Download the security update program for the OS checked in Step (1) through a computer connected to
the Internet.
a．Access “Microsoft Update Catalog” to search for the “MS17-010” update program.

In reference to attached list,

enter necessary information.

b．Download the target update program.

* Download the update program corresponding to the used OS system type.

For 32 bits, the program with the name containing “x86”
For 64 bits, the program with the name containing “x64”

(3) Copy the downloaded security update program to the auxiliary storage device such as a USB flash drive.
(4) Connect the auxiliary storage device such as a USB flash drive prepared in Step (3) to the target system
(NIDEK product).
(5) Select the auxiliary storage device such as a USB flash drive from My Computer.

(6) Double-click the update program saved in the auxiliary storage device such as a USB flash drive to
activate the software and install the update program.

(7) After the installation is complete, from Control Panel, double-click [Programs and Features] > [Installed
Updates].

(8) Confirm that Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4019264) is installed.
