    The Setting

    Characters – Tell who is in the story.

    Place – Tell where the story takes place.

    Time – Tell when the story happens.

    The Problem

    One or more characters has a difficulty. What is the difficulty or


    problem?

    The Goal

    Goal - One or more of the characters has a goal – something they need
    or want to happen. Usually this goes along with the problem.

    The Events

    Event 1, 2, and 3 – Things that happen in the story that tell how the
    characters get from the problem and goal to the ending of the story.

    The Ending
    What happened at the end of the story. Tells how the characters
    achieved his goal and solved his problem.
