Plot
● Exposition
● Rising Action
● Climax
● Falling Action
● Resolution
6

Exposition
Show the readers the character - what is he/she
wearing? How does he show look (physical
characteristics)

When exposing the character, choose a particular way

of organizing the details - go from head to toe or toe to
head - this does not mean you have to give every
single detail about the character in the exposition;
however, at least introduce the character to the
audience, if even minimally.
7

Rising Action
At this point, the character faces the main conflict in
the story and tension begins to increase in the story
possibly between the protagonist and the antagonist.
8

Climax
Think about it as the point at which you feel the most
tension and where the main character is placed in a
position where he/she must find a way to solve the
main conflict.
9

Falling Action
Things start to work out for the protagonist and he/she
is trying several ways to solve the main conflict. The
story is now moving to the resolution
10

Resolution
This is the point at which the main conflict is solved.
11

Characters
Characters can be dynamic or static. They can also be
round or flat

Dynamic character - a character who goes through

change in the story

Static character - Character does not change

throughout the story
