Emptying & Decontamination Instructions

Model: FP3 Birth Pool; Version 1.0 EN-GB

WARNING:
Failure to follow the recommended decontamination procedures may result in infection risk or harm to individuals.
Edel Immersys will not be held responsible for any harm caused to individuals where instructions have not been followed.

Always use standard infection control precautions including gauntlets and plastic aprons.
Eye protection is recommended when handling hypochlorite solution.

Always enquire with Edel Immersys or your distributor if you are considering
using an alternative decontamination method or materials.

The FP3 pool is designed with all smooth surfaces


to enable effective and easy decontamination.

Materials required:
3 Soft cloths and optional mop Non-abrasive detergent

Plastic jug for rinsing water Hypochlorite agent for dilution with water

Step Action Note


1 Using a single-use sieve, remove debris and other
solid organic matter from the water and discard
both matter and sieve into clinical waste.

2 Pull the chain to remove the plug from drain. The


plug/chain is a single use item – discard.

3 Use a non-abrasive detergent and soft cloth


or sponge to clean the tap and the pool inside
and out.

4 Rinse thoroughly using warm water. Use a plastic jug to rinse pool.

5 Prepare 3-5 litres of hypochlorite solution to


10,000ppm (1%)

6 Open windows or turn up ventilation fan. Reduces chlorine fumes.

7 Starting with tap and then from top of pool A single-use mop may be used for the
