OPERATION MANUAL
 Overview
Combining state-of-the-art ultrasonic technology and traditional Chinese
craftsmanship, Young Living’s Rainstone™ Diffuser provides a balanced
convergence of the grounding element of earth with the enveloping and
soothing powers of essential oil-infused mist. Created with an exquisite
and rare purple clay found only in a small region of China, each Rainstone
Diffuser is handmade using ancient craftsmanship passed down from
generation to generation for more than 1,000 years.


Young Living’s Rainstone has a robust feature set, including continuous

ultrasonic diffusion at 1.7 million waves per second; 1, 2, 3, 6, and 8 hour
settings with automatic shutoff; five soft LED light settings (blue, yellow,
purple, alternating each color, and off); a negative ionizer; and a remote
control. The Rainstone’s elegant design and handcrafted artistry make it an
exquisite piece of art to complement any décor and transform any space into
an inviting, aroma-filled atmosphere.

Remote Control
ON/OFF (8H) – Press to turn on the diffuser, LED light (alternating blue,
yellow, and purple), and the ionizer with automatic shut off after 8 hours
(default setting).

1H – Press for 1 hour of continuous ON/OFF (8H) 6H

diffusion with automatic shut off. 1H Mist ON/OFF
2H Ionizer ON/OFF
2H – Press for 2 hours of continuous 3H Led control

diffusion with automatic shut off.

3H – Press for 3 hours of continuous diffusion with automatic shut off.

6H – Press for 6 hours of continuous diffusion with automatic shut off.

MIST ON/OFF – Turns on or off the mist diffusion function.

IONIZER ON/OFF – Turns on or off the ionization function.

LED CONTROL – Press to cycle through light display modes:

(Default mode cycles through blue, yellow, and purple every 2:30 minutes)

Mode 1 – Blue

Mode 2 – Yellow

Mode 3 – Purple

Mode 4 – Off

Mode 5 – Alternating blue, yellow, and purple changing

every 2:30 minutes

Installing the Remote Control Battery

Put the included battery in the battery groove with “+’’ facing upward, then
put the battery cover back on and twist right to fasten the cover.

Operating Instructions
1. Fill the included water cup with room-temperature tap or mineral
water. (Do not use purified or distilled water or the diffuser may not
generate mist.)

 2. Add 8–10 drops of your favorite essential oil into the water cup.

3. Remove the lid from the diffuser.

4. Pull the ventilation hole switch (F) up to close it so water does not get
into the internal electronics.

5. Pour the water and essential oil mixture into the water reservoir.
Continue filling with water until the water level reaches, but does not
exceed, the red water fill line. (If water exceeds the red water fill line, the
diffuser may not generate mist.)

6. Push the ventilation hole switch down to open it.

7. Place the lid back on the diffuser.

8. Plug the power line plug into the power adaptor input on the
diffuser base.

9. Plug the adaptor plug into a power socket.

10. Press the remote control “ON/OFF (8H)” button to turn on the diffuser,
LED light (alternating blue, yellow, and purple), and the ionizer with
automatic shut off after 8 hours or adjust settings as desired. (The
remote control should be used within 26 feet of the diffuser.)

11. The diffuser will run until the selected automatic shut-off time or until the
water reservoir is empty.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Always turn off and unplug the diffuser prior to cleaning. To ensure proper
performance, clean the water reservoir, water level sensor, and ultrasonic
plate after each use. Never use a corrosive detergent to clean the ultrasonic
plate or damage will occur. Periodically check under the diffuser to keep
the fan intake free of debris. Debris can be removed by blowing on the fan
intake opening or wiping with a clean, dry cloth. (Do not use aerosol sprays,
solvents, or abrasives to clean the diffuser.) When not in use, clean the
diffuser and store dry. Replacement ultrasonic plates can be purchased from
Young Living.

Cleaning the Interior of the Diffuser

1. Take the lid off of the diffuser.

2. Pull the ventilation hole switch upward to close it.

3. To empty the water reservoir, pour out the water from the side opposite
the ventilation hole.
Note: Avoid getting any water into the ventilation hole or it will
damage the internal electronics and shorten the product life.

4. To clean essential oil buildup on the ultrasonic plate, gently wipe it off
using the included brush dipped in rubbing alcohol.

5. To clean the water reservoir and water level sensor, pour a neutral
cleanser into the water reservoir and use the included cleaning brush to
remove any residual oil.

 6. Rinse the water reservoir with clean water and pour the water out
(see Step 3).

7. After cleaning, open the ventilation hole switch by pushing it downward.

8. Replace the lid.

Cleaning the Exterior

1. Take off the lid.

2. Twist the metal mesh cover to the left and lift the metal mesh cover off of
the diffuser.

3. Use a soft cloth soaked in a neutral cleanser to clean the metal mesh.

4. Use a soft cloth soaked with a neutral cleanser to clean the exterior of
the water reservoir. (Note: Do not get water or cleanser on the remote
control receiver.)

5. Replace the metal mesh cover. Align the mesh cover groove with the
remote control panel and twist to the right until you hear a click. Verify
that it is locked in place.

Safety and Care Instructions

Please read and follow these safety guidelines closely to ensure safe
operation of the diffuser.

• Unplug the diffuser immediately and discontinue use in the event of

smoke or a burning smell.

• Use room-temperature tap or mineral water. Do not use distilled or

purified water.

• Never wrap the adaptor with cloth, paper, etc. Such actions may result in
damage to the diffuser or fire.

• Never touch the adaptor with wet hands; electric shock or injury
may occur.

 • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the diffuser; this will void
the warranty.

• Never immerse the diffuser in water.

• Unplug the adaptor when refilling, cleaning, or moving the diffuser.

• Keep the diffuser out of reach of children.

• Do not remove or place objects in the water reservoir during operation.

• Do not place your fingers in the water during operation; this may result
in injury.

• Do not place acidic or alkaline chemicals in the reservoir.

• Use only the included power adaptor provided in the packaging or by

Young Living.

• Do not shake the diffuser.

• Any damage caused by the user does not qualify for replacement by
Young Living.

• Do not use metal objects to clean the ultrasonic plate; use only a cotton
swab or cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol or a neutral detergent.

• Never use the product for purposes other than those listed in
this manual.

• If the unit will not be used for an extended period or needs to be

relocated, unplug the power adaptor, empty the water reservoir, and
wipe the unit clean before storage.

• Clean the unit before switching to different essential oils.

• Use only 100-percent pure, natural essential oils. Artificial, synthetic, or

impure oils and fragrances can cause harm to the unit.

• The water reservoir level should not exceed the red water fill line marker.

• When unplugging the power adaptor, pull from the adaptor plug
instead of pulling the wire.

 • Avoid placing the product under direct sunlight, close to a refrigerator
or fan, or in a hot environment.

• Place the diffuser on a flat surface.

Troubleshooting
If the diffuser fails to work properly, unplug the unit before performing
the following:

• Verify that only tap or mineral water was used (not purified or distilled
water);

• Check the water reservoir level to see if it is empty or above the red
water fill line;

• Check whether the power adaptor is securely plugged into the wall
socket and the rear of the diffuser;

• Verify that power outlet is working (try another outlet);

• Verify that ventilation hole is open;

• Check for essential oil buildup on the ultrasonic plate. If oil buildup is
present, read the cleaning instructions;

• Check that the fan intake under the diffuser is free of any obstruction or
debris that may restrict air flow.

 Young Living Diffuser Product Warranty
Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO), Thanksgiving Point Business Park, 3125
Executive Parkway, Lehi, Utah 84043, subject to the exclusions contained
below, warrants its diffuser to be free from defects in materials and
workmanship under normal consumer usage for a period of 12 calendar
months from the date of original purchase.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:

1. Defects or damage resulting from use of the product in other than its
normal and customary manner;

2. Defects or damage from misuse, accident, or neglect;

3. Defects or damage from use of natural oils other than those supplied or
sold by Young Living Essential Oils or an authorized distributor;

4. Defects or damage from use of materials other than essential oils;

5. Defects or damage from improper testing, operation, maintenance,

installation, adjustment, or any alteration or modification of any kind;

6. Breakage or damage caused by use of other than the specified voltage;

7. Products disassembled or repaired by anyone other than a Young Living

Essential Oils’ authorized agent so as to adversely affect performance
or prevent adequate inspection, verification, and testing to verify any
warranty claim. If there are any signs the diffuser had been opened, the
warranty will be void;

8. Products with labels removed or illegible serial numbers;

9. Marring such as scratches on any plastic surfaces and externally exposed

parts resulting from normal use;

10. Damage resulting from normal wear and tear; and/or

11. Damage resulting from the use of metal tools to clean the unit.

This limited warranty is the buyer’s exclusive remedy, applies to new diffusers
purchased from Young Living Essential Oils, and is non-transferable. Please
retain your original purchase receipt. In the event of a warranty claim or
return for repair, a copy of the purchase receipt should accompany the
diffuser when shipped to YLEO. To make a warranty claim or to purchase
spare parts, please contact the Young Living Member Services Department
at 1.800.371.3515 (6 a.m.–8 p.m., MT, M–F and 7 a.m.–5 p.m., MT, Saturday).
If it is determined by Member Services that the diffuser is to be shipped back
to YLEO, the buyer will need to send the product back in its original box (if
available) with the power adaptor, a copy of the original purchase receipt,
and the YLEO Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)# (displayed clearly
on the receipt), which will be provided by Member Services.

an evaluation and inspection of the diffuser, that the defect or malfunction
