INTRODUCTION
This is the first section of Chapter 1, and it includes the following: background of the study,
statement of the problem, significance of the study, and scope and delimination of the study.

• Using a relevant and compelling quotation;

• telling a reasonable but striking anecdote or experience;
• asking a series of questions;
• and making a striking remark of your own may all contribute to an effective introduction.

Background of the Study

This is a concise overview of the problem's origin. It is a description of the circumstances leading up
to the research.

Statement of the Problem

The first major step in preparing a research paper is to define the problem. It must be expressed
accurately, clearly, and unambiguously. The problem can be presented as an inquiry or as a
declarative statement.
Ex.

• Broad Topic: Problems of Drug Addiction

• Specific Topic: The Effects of Drug Addiction on the Human Body

Significance of the Study

This section discusses the relevance of the study and its findings. It includes an indication of the
study's relevance to meet specific requirements.
Scope and Delimination of the Study
The scope of the study defines a reasonable area covered by the investigation. The subjects,
number, and treatment included in the study must be specified in the study's particular statement.

3. Research Topic: A research study on students' mental and emotional health caused by online
classes.
Hypothesis: It would be affected in some ways like students would be experiencing Sleeping
Problems, Anxiety Disorders, Fatigue or Stress and etc.
4. Research Study - is a systematic inquiry process that includes data gathering, documenting of
essential information, and analysis and interpretation of that data/information in accordance with
appropriate techniques established by certain professional sectors and academic disciplines.
Research is carried out to assess the validity of a hypothesis or an interpretative framework, to
compile a body of substantive information and findings for appropriate dissemination, and to create
questions for further investigation. It is described as a thorough examination of a specific topic or
problem using scientific methodologies. To collect accurate data, research employs a methodical
methodology. While making observations or drawing conclusions, researchers must adhere to ethics
and a code of conduct.
Mental Health - Our emotional, psychological, and social well-being all contribute to our mental
health. It has an impact on how we think, feel, and act. It also influences how we deal with stress,
interact with people, and make decisions. Mental health is essential at all stages of life, from infancy
through adolescent to maturity. Our mental health influences how we think, feel, and conduct; it
determines how we view the world, make decisions, and deal with stress. Mental health is defined as
“a condition of well-being in which each individual realizes his or her own potential, is able to cope
with the usual pressures of life, is able to work effectively and fruitfully, and is able to contribute to
her or his community.”
Emotional Health - also known as wellbeing, is essential for living a life of completeness, balance,
and satisfaction. Simply defined, an emotional health definition involves resilience - getting back up
after being knocked down by life. Rather than having a problem-free existence (which is impossible if
you're a human being), emotional health implies being able to recover from failures and thrive in the
face of adversity.
Online Classes - An online class is a class that is presented through the Internet. They are often
delivered via a learning management system, where students may examine their course curriculum
and academic progress, as well as communicate with their classmates and course teacher. Online
classes are often self-paced, giving students more freedom in completing curriculum.
Anxiety disorders - are a type of mental illness. They include anxiety disorders in general, social
phobias, particular phobias (such as agoraphobia and claustrophobia), and panic disorders. Anxiety
is a normal reaction to stress, and it may be useful in some instances. It can warn us of impending
hazards and assist us in preparing and paying attention. Worry disorders are distinguished from
typical emotions of uneasiness or anxiety by the presence of excessive dread or anxiety. Anxiety
problems are frequently associated with depression. Anxiety disorders are prevalent mental health
issues that impact a large number of people.
Stress - Any sort of change that produces physical, emotional, or psychological pressure is referred
to as stress. Stress is your body's reaction to anything that demands your attention or action. STress
is the state that occurs as a result of internal or external stresses. Every system in the body reacts
differently to stress. Stress causes changes in nearly every system in the body, influencing how
people feel and act. The presence of trees causes mental and physical disturbances in living beings.
Stress can manifest as either physical or mental symptoms.
