 Choose a member of your household to conduct an interview. Ask the questions: (1) Who
is Jose Rizal?; (2) Why was he shot to death?; (3) Why is Rizal our national hero?.
 Based on the result of the interview, and the arguments of the trial, explain whether it is
still necessary to study the life and works of Jose Rizal today or not. Answer must not be
more than ten (10) sentences.

Jose Rizal's works, particularly Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, were contravened by the
church's religious principles during the RA 1425 trial. Most people believe that allowing their
children to read those novels will be too much for them to bear and that it will affect their
outlook on life in ways that are unsuitable for them. The majority of church members advocated
against RA 1425's ratification due to religious concerns that it would lead to religious strife, yet it
was authorized, which is a good thing. Rizal was very highly-educated, multilingual, and to the
Filipino population, Rizal has become one of the most powerful, rousing legends, and he was
naturally introduced to a rich and renowned Filipino family, according to the results of the
interview. He was killed because he defended Filipinos by fighting for our country's freedom
using his knowledge, ability, and talents. As one of the greatest national heroes, he will live on in
the hearts of all Filipinos. He became the Philippine National Hero because he fought for an
opportunity in a quiet but remarkable manner, and he expressed his admiration for the
Philippines through his books, expositions, and essays rather than through the use of weapons. I
suppose that we Filipinos must be aware of Jose Rizal's life and works, as he is one of our
country's heroes who battled and died for us. Jose Rizal once said, "It is better to die with honor
than to live in dishonor." We, the current generations, may not be able to change the world as
it's so chaotic, but we can make such a difference.
