PANinDA: Easy food access, right at your fingertips

Background/Problem
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), access to safe and nutritious food is
essential for life and is indeed the foundation for health. Local food markets play an important role
in food security and in improving the health of a community. Iloilo City relies on the fresh produce,
meat, and other goods coming from the rural areas as the main supplier for the majority of the
households in the city (Rath, T. 2020).
However, the underlying problem is the accessibility between market vendors and local
producers who have a hard time transporting their food products to the urban areas; as well as the
inconvenience and inaccessibility of some of the consumers from the local food markets. These
circumstances were further aggravated by the community restrictions and transportation issues due
to COVID-19 outbreak. (Siddiqi, S.M. et al., 2020)

Solution
In this time of a global pandemic, a modern solution with regards to the accessibility of dry
and wet goods from the local food market is introduced. The Pew Research Center survey stated
that 60% of the population of the Philippines owns a smartphone. In line with this, the group plans
to create a mobile application: “PANinDA: Easy food access, right at your fingertips” an app that
directly delivers food supplies and other goods from local producers/vendors to the local
consumers which is more convenient and accessible.

Potential Customer
 Iloilo City residents with smartphones (consumers/vendors/producers)

Differentiator
 Direct delivery of food supplies from producers to vendors, vendors to consumers
 Gives a shorter route to riders when delivering the food supplies to save more time
 Consumer’s Checklist (provides checkboxes) before clicking received order
 Affordable service fee
