Hello Everyone,

Season's Greetings!

I am delighted to welcome all to the "Indian Optometric Association - 2020 annual conference".

Over the past few months, IOA has continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and its impact on Optometry
practice and education. Unlock 4.0 guidelines are in place, we are gearing up slowly to adapt new normals. Keeping
the health and safety as primary focus, IOA has decided to conduct 2020 conference virtually.

The theme of the conference is "Evidence based Practice - Transforming Primary Eye Care" scheduled on
4 ,5 & 6 December, 2020. This year conference has been planned to capitalise on our strengths and build on our
commitment to promote effective use of evidence-based practices in the field of Optometry.

Plenary sessions, invited talks, panel discussions, paper & poster presentations, chit-chat with i-faculty, potpourri
of optometry case discussions, and practice management talks have been planned. In addition, activities such as
crazy talks, creative mems, jingle writing, cartoon and slogan designs are planned to engage young optometry
minds. You could be a part of this landmark event as a presenter, delegate, sponsor or as an exhibitor.

We are making every effort to make this experience seamless, relevant, and individualistic.

General Information:
We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts for this year’s IOA 2020 (Indian Optometric Association)
conference from 4 ,5 & 6 December 2020. IOA 2020 is a friendly, national conference that showcases the excellent
work that optometrists, ophthalmologists and vision scientists are doing across India.

This year we will be running the conference virtually. We are looking for submissions for research talks and posters
containing original data.

The call is also open to undergraduate students (with agreement from their Supervisor). We would like to encourage
clinicians and teaching staff to consider submitting abstracts based on their clinical work or aspects of pedagogy.
We’re confident that there will be several examples of innovative teaching solutions to the challenges presented by
the COVID-19 crisis.

The presenting author must be registered, and “attend” the conference or the abstract will be withdrawn. Abstracts
presented at the conference will be published in the conference book, unless you opt-out in the abstract template.
Abstracts previously published will be considered but it will not be possible to publish them – if you intend to re-sub-
mit an abstract please “opt-out” on the template.
We are also hoping to assign CE points to some of the sessions, and so we have asked for a small number of referenc-
es in order to help us speed up the application process. Best of luck with your submission.

Notification of acceptance/rejection along with specific guidelines will be sent via email by 31-October, 2020 to the
