Monday:
1. Chalk Art

Material(s):
Group 2
October 1st -5th
Sky’s the Limit …

 Chalk
 Black Construction Paper

2. Horse
 A playground ball is bouncy, so you could play a regular game of basketball with it, but you can definitely play Horse
(or Spud if you want the game to go faster). Players take turns trying to make shots. If someone makes a basket, all the
other players have to make the same shot form the same spot or get a letter. Whoever gets all the letters in HORSE
first, is out. This game can be played serious or silly

Material(s): Ball

3. Piggy in the Middle

 The object of the game is for the players to keep the player in the middle from getting the ball. They have to keep
tossing it to each other while the player in the middle attempts to catch the ball. Once he catches a ball, the throwing
player is in the middle. With younger kids, you could take turns and put a time limit on the time in the middle.
Material(s): Ball

Tuesday:
1. Asset Building – Appropriate Expectations for Growth
 Have children write out goals for 1 year. 5years & 10 years. Discuss why and how they plan on achieving these goals .
Material(s): None

2. Don’t Drop the Ball

 Remember that episode of Friends, The One With The Ball, when they kept a ball in the air for hours? Wouldn’t it be
amazing if your kids did this… for hours… outside. It’s worth a try.

3. Soccer
 Soccer or a scaled back version of it can be practiced with a playground ball. Maybe just work on dribbling and stealing
and kicking goals.
Material(s): Ball

Wednesday:
1. Bombs Away
Material(s): None

2. Popsicle

 Freeze tag in the water. When someone is tagged, they stand straight with their hands above their head, like a popsicle.
The added twist in this game is submarining. When a player is under water, they cannot be tagged by “it,” but they can
swim past a “popsicle” and unfreeze them.

Material(s): None

3. Line Tag
 How to play: Just like in regular tag, choose someone to be It. And just like in regular tag, It runs around and
tries to tag the other players, making them It instead. But unlike regular tag, all players (including It)
can only run on the lines of the court. So no touching the ground unless you’re on a line. (But it is way cool
when you can jump from one line to another, haha!)

Material(s): None

4. Dr. Dodgeball
Group 2
October 1st -5th
Sky’s the Limit …

 Good old Dr. Dodgeball… when players are hit, they must sit down. The doctors will come by with their scooter
ambulances and pick them up, bring them to the hospital, then the player is good to go back into the game. Careful
that the doctor doesn’t get hit!

Material(s): Dodgeballs

Thursday:
1. Spin & Run
 It’s a simple race.
First, hold a broom or baseball bat in the air, looking at the top of it.
Keeping your eye on the top, spin in a circle 10 times.
Now (try to) run to the finish line.
Material(s): None

2. True or False
 The players are divided into 2 equal teams standing on either side of a center line.
 One of these is the “True” team and the other is the “False” team.
 Each team has a goal on either side of the center line.
 When the leader gives a true statement, such as “Grass is Green”, the true players run for their goal, chased by the false team.
 If tagged, the members of the true team become members of the false team. (and just the opposite if the question is false)
 The team that has the most players at the end of the playing time is the winner

Material(s): None

3. Blob Tag
 Designate boundaries. Depending on the size of the play group, one or more children are the Blob.
Any one tagged by the Blob must join hands and become part of it.
Object: For the Blob to devour everyone and for everyone else to stay alive as long as possible.
