Self- Assessment Activity

1. After answering the Self-awareness assessment, what did you feel?

Answer:

I feel alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic that’s what I would say because it’s true. When you’re
about to examine yourself, it means that you have to think in a subjective way which I did. Hence, it’s
foolish to answer it with fraud because you cannot fool yourself. I felt alive in a way that you know
yourself better; I’m alert in a way that you have to answer it with honesty and sincerity; awake in a way
that you are about to share good or bad news about yourself with confidentiality; and enthusiastic in a
way that I can’t wait to share my thoughts and inspire others.

2. From your answers above, what are you today? Good or bad? Why?

Answer:

Needless to say, I am good in some ways and bad sometime. There were also others saying that I
am good and there were also saying I am bad otherwise. Further, I would say that I’m good based on my
answers above. However, just like yin and yang I have to be fair and just. I can be bad if the certain
situation does not suit for being good. In other words, we have to control ourselves depending on a
situation. For example, if someone bullied you at school or anywhere, you must learn to defend yourself
though some others seems to think that you’re malevolent. Thus, you know yourself better than them.

3. Is there anything that you need to change in yourself? If yes, what is/are this/these? If none, prove
your answer.

Answer:

Let me think of it. Well, I am certain that I have to change my attitude of being a sloth
sometimes. I know that I am capable of something but I can’t perform it very well because laziness is
getting into my nerves. I know that it’s not good to be lazy but there were times that I can’t control it. I
always lay down on bed as if there were no necessary priorities to accomplish. That’s why it’s the only
thing that I must change because it affects not only me but also others as well.

MORALITY

2. “All the great teachers of the ages maintain that the supreme purpose of human living lies not in
the acquisition of material goods or bodily pleasures, nor the attainment of bodily perfections
such as health and strength; nor even in the development of intellectual skills but in the
development of the moral qualities which lift man far above the brute creation.” - What does this

It simply means moral qualities are more important than anything we just see, hear, and possess.
For example, outside appearances which are bodily perfections; material wealth; and intellectual
skills we possess will just pass away but by showing benevolence to others will remain planted
within. Logically speaking, heart is more important than brain. Just like love is way more important
than intelligence. That’s what great teachers want us to understand in order to have a right living with
moral qualities. Kindness must be our national language.

3. Why do we need ethics?

We badly need ethics because it shapes our lives and core values. We are created by the
Almighty with moral qualities. Hence, we are intended to live according to our purpose and ethics
is our weapon. To conclude, by virtue of ethics, we are holistically molded with art, aesthetic and
character.

1. Why do we need to follow rules?

Answer:

Rules assist us with having a sense of security and safety. Our communities are similar because
they both have diverse people who want to live and work in a harmonious environment. Likewise, laws
protect our general safety, and ensure our rights as citizens against abuses by other people, by
organizations, and by the government itself. We have laws to help provide for our general safety. When
rules are properly set and followed, they provide a stable environment and human co-existence in a
community, resulting in peace and order.

2. Axie was walking on the road; she was in a hurry because their house is currently on fire. As she
about to across on the other side, the traffic light turned red. But she can’t wait for more seconds,
she suddenly then walk across after seeing that there was no vehicle on the street and fortunately
she teacher their home, helped and saved her love ones as well as her important document. With
this scenario, is Axie’s action acceptable? If you are the traffic enforcer, would you file a case for
her for not following the rules? Why or why not?

Answer:

If Axie was in a hurry because their house is currently on fire, why is she just walking in fact, she
supposed to run, isn’t she? But that’s not the question. If I were a traffic enforcer, I wouldn’t file a case
for her because the main reason is she was in a state of emergency. As it is said, the rules are present to
provide us general safety. With regards on Axie’s situation, though she broke the traffic rules, still she
haven’t cause any trouble with traffic and besides there were no vehicles around so, she’s in the right
track.
