1. If we have learned something out of the proverbial stories of Tarzan and Cinderella, how
is it related to our discussion on the Social Self. Explain your answer.

- It is related to social self because our growth and development are a product of our
interaction with the environment because every person we meet or every experiences
changes us.

2. In your opinion how does society and its different institution (nation, family, education,
religion, economy, ethnic background) influence the person you are today.

- It is a big part of my life right now or what I am today because if it’s not there or if I am
not influenced by those things, maybe I am not here where I am now or I am not what I
am today so for me it is something big has happened in my life because of that.

3. How can you explain the concept of Self, in the view of the social self?

- Concept of self is a more comprehensive evaluation of the self, largely based on how a
person sees themselves, values themselves, thinks about themselves, and feels about
themselves.

4. It was said that human self is consistent over a period of the hence the behavior we do is
repetitive against various circumstances, yet however it is also ever- changing and
dynamic. How do you make sense out of this human complexity?

- First of all just expect the unexpected and be prepared to change your understanding or
point of view and learn from your past and it help you to become wiser and stronger.

5. The Social Constructivist contends the imperative of merging the person into its context
in order to grasp the kind of self the person is. How would you explain this thought to
your classmate or friends?

- I’ll just say that the Social constructivist is about understanding and knowledge based
on their own experiences.
6. It is said that the self is malleable in its dealing with the society, how is possible?
Explain your answer.

- Because the society is important in life, in order for us to live the life in a very
comfortable way and it provides us with a system and a platform to work together for the
betterment of the world. And this can help us to get better understanding of the real world
around us.

7. In your own life, how multi – faceted is your identity?

- I am a self-declared extroverted and introvert. In my more extroverted moments, when I


feel more comfortable, I am talkative and outspoken. At the same time being introvert,
there’s no question about it. I’m shy, I like being alone and I’m good at it, and I avoid
confrontation at all cost. I’ve always been this way, and I’m fine with it.

8. Do you agree that humans have shifting form of identity? If not how would you say
otherwise? Explain your answer.

- Yes, I agree with that because shifting identity is not about changing who you are, it is
about changing where you feel you fit in and change is good because you have the
opportunity to embrace new experiences.

9. For Marcel Mause there are two kinds of Identity, Moi and Personne.. In your own
understanding, what is Moi?

- Moi is about the external appearance of a person

10. How important it is for us to have numerous of Perssone? Is it practical for us to have
shifting or ever – changing persona? Explain your answer.

- For me we do really change because there are no permanent things in this word, nothing
stay the same forever and there are so many reason why people change.
