The sensitivityfactorfor the air pressuremeasurementis, for sea levelconditions, estimated

by

c,,=fr11[kwhPa] (E.28)

The uncertaintydue to the relativehumiditymight be significantif the averageair temperature

is high.At sea level and at an air temperatureof 20'C, the air densityvaries 1,2 % between
0 oh and 100 o/orelativehumidity.lt varies 2,0 ok and 4,0 % at 30 "C and 40 'C, respectively.
Thus, at high temperaturesit is recommendedthat the relativehumiditybe measuredand
correctedfor. The influenceof the relativehumidityis not taken into accountin this example.

The standarduncertaintyof the temperaturesensoris assumedto be 0,5'C. The shieldingof

the temperaturesensoris assumedto producea standarduncertaintyof 2"C. The standard
uncertaintydue to mountingeffects of the temperaturesensor is dependenton the vertical
distancefrom the hub height. With the temperaturesensormountedwithin 10 m of hub height
a standarduncertaintyof 113"C is assumed.Consideringa temperaturerangeof 40'C of the
measurementchannel and an uncertaintyof the data acquisitionsystem of 0,1 % of this
range, the expressionfor the standarduncertaintyof the air temperaturein each bin is:

(E2e)

The pressuresensor is estimatedto have a standarduncertaintyof 3,0 hPa. lt is assumed

that the pressureis correctedto the hub heightaccordingto ISO 2533 (which, for a standard
atmosphereand a heightdifferenceof 28 m betweenthe sensorand the hub, is 3,4 hPa).The
uncertaintydue to deploymentis estimatedto be 10 o/oof the correction, which is 0,34 hPa.
Consideringa pressurerange of 100 hPa of the measurementchanneland an uncertaintyof
the data acquisitionsystemof 0,1 % of this range, the expressionfor the standarduncertainty
of the air oressureis:

,r,, : J(g,o hPa)2+ (0,34 hPa)2+ (0,1%. 100 hpa )2 = 3,0 hpa (E 30)

E.5.5 Combined category B uncertainties

The categoryB uncertainties

in each bin are combinedas:

E.5.6 Combinedstandard uncertai nty- Power curve

The combinedstandarduncertainties of each bin of the power curve are found by combining
the categoryA uncertainty
with all the categoryB uncertainties
