Course Description:
The Syndicated Learning Program helps the student gain knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of business
communication, analytical abilities using relevant software tools and personality development necessary for
success in careers at the end of the two year business management course.

Course Objectives
At the end of the course, students are expected to:
• To understand the gaps in the English language/ business communication (ELPT 1)
• To focus on improving those gaps (both oral and written components)
• To apply business vocabulary in the communication through reading business newspapers/
magazines
• To measure the learning of the concepts through ELPT 2 and other assessments
• Analyze and solve business problems using tools such as Excel and SAS

Evaluation

The SLP in semester I is a noncredit course but is an important prerequisite to gain the required knowledge and
skills. Based on performance during the course students will be marked as ‘Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory” that will
be reflected in the Grade Sheet. Results of student performance will be shared with Parents/ guardians.

Instructions

It is mandatory for every student to maintain the prescribed attendance without which performance assessment
will not be recorded and graded.

Expectations from Students


a. Students must report to the respective sessions well before the announced time. Latecomers will not be
permitted to join the class after the scheduled time. If late, the attendance for that session will be
marked as absent.
b. Read the Case Study / material well prior to the class discussion. He/she is also expected to read the
chapter indicated in the course plan as the faculty directs.
c. In the class discussion student is expected to participate actively and contribute to individual and group
learning. Evaluation is based on active participation.
