Date:-------------------- Acid - Base Titration Simulation Lab Name:----------------------

Test #:------, Period#:-----

Objective: Determine the concentration of an UNKNOWN acid or base solutions using

the following equation:
(M. V. #) Acid = ( M.V.#) Base

 Go to my BLOG Simulation Labs tab. Find Acid-Base Titration.

 Browse through this simulation to complete the following investigation

Experiment [1] : Calculate the [NaOH]

Part( A)
Procedure
1. Select the type of Rxn: Strong Acid vs Base
2. Fill the burette with : Base
3. Select the Acid & Base: HCl(aq) & NaOH(aq)
- Notice the burette filling with the NaOH(aq) and the beaker filled with HCl(aq)
- Notice the given molarity & volume of HCl(aq)- Record in Data Table below
4. Select indicator: Phenolphthalein
5. Insert the pH-meter probe in the beaker, read the pH ( no need to record ).
Start the Titration by pushing the slider up SLOWLY . Notice the V NaOH value added. Keep
adding Base till the pH -meter reading is just above 1.00 ( warning : pH=7 happens
suddenly), then start adding DROPWISE using the labeled button. STOP the Titration the 1 st
instant the solution in the beaker changes color (lightest color possible persists) you have
reached the END POINT.
Apply the equation above to Calculate [NaOH].

6. Check your calculated answer! Type the molarity in #6. HOW WELL DID YOU DO?
7. Reset & start all over
