Operation Philosophy

1) Arrival of the truck at the terminal and parking at the specific parking area, outside the terminal.

2) The driver of the truck gives all the required documentation at the Security office of the trucks parking
area.

3) Security Shall check all the certificates of the truck and make a visual check of it. If the truck follows all
the national regulations and standards, they give permission to the driver to enter the plant and go to the
loading island.

4) After that truck goes to the island area and Loading Skid Operator will assign the number of arm, in
order to be connected with the assigned loading arm.

5) Operator shell open all the manual ball valves of the skid, and the skid should be filled with crude oil.

6) The operator checks from all the vent points that the air has been removed from the system.
Operation Philosophy

7) All the drain valves are checked to be close.

8) The Driver connects the grounding and overfill prevention device in the suitable socket of the
truck.

9) The Driver disconnects the loading arm from the “parking position” and he connects it to the
male API adaptor of the truck.

10) Moreover, he connects the vapor return loading arm to the vapor coupler of the truck.
11) The operator Communicate with PLC Operator to run the pump and will checks from the
pressure gauges that the skid is pressurized.

12) The operator / Driver by using the buttons of the keyboard of the Accuload, feed the all required
information ( Driver name, Tanker Number etc.) and gives the amount of crude oil that has to be
loaded on the truck
Operation Philosophy

13) After pressing “start” button, and taking into consideration that all the conditions are followed,
the flow control valve opens and the flow of the fuel starts. In the screen of the Accuload it is appeared
the countdown measurement of the delivered quantity, the quantity that is already transported to the
truck and the flow rate of the fuel. In particular, the procedure is as follows:

a) Press “SET” button

b) Using the keyboard, set the delivery quantity in liters (e.g. 3500 liters)

c) Press “START” button

14) When the loading of the truck is finished, the flow control valve closes automatically.

15) The Driver after disconnecting the loading arms and the grounding and overfill devices, The Driver
will take the Invoice from PLC room and finish the loading procedure.

16) The driver moves the truck to the Exit gate and will proceed for plant assigned location.
Accuload Operation

Keypad Functions

The pushbuttons on the keypad perform the following

• Preset functions in the Run Mode.


• 0 - 9 Used for presetting the quantity to be delivered.
• CLEAR Used to clear incorrect entries and to exit from the dynamic displays.
• ENTER Used for dynamic displays and selecting the recipe to be loaded.
• PRINT Signals completion of transaction.
• SET Used to initiate the preset sequence and paging through recipes.
• START Used to start the delivery (providing all external permissive senses are satisfied).
• STOP Used to stop delivery at any time .
Accuload Operation

• ↑ Used to move the selection arrow up in selection of recipes and navigating the
dynamic displays.
• ↓ Used to move the selection arrow down in selection of recipes and navigating
the dynamic displays.
• F1 In split screen mode, toggles between one screen view and another; in full
screen mode, toggles between one load arm display and another
• F2 Toggles between full screen and split screen modes (Not used in our
applications)

• This is the first screen that the


operator sees when he is in front
of the flow computer. Our
example is for Skid 2 and the
selecting screen is the one in the
bottom.

• If the operator presses F1 he can


toggles between the load arms
displays. To the screen under the
operator pressed F1 and went
from Load Arm4 to Load Arm 3.

• Before the operator start the transaction he


should check that all the manual valves in
the inlet of the skid are open so that the
line is filled with product and all the drain
and vent valves are closed.
• Then the driver after park the truck to the
proper position he should first connect the
Ground socket to the truck , then the vapor
hose and finally connects the product hose
and open it.
• For our example the truck is connected to
Skid 2 Load Arm 3 .So the operator press
SET and write the preset quantity of the
batch:36000

• The operator use radios to communicate with the control room and tells them to start the
product pump. When the pump is on then the operator Press Start and the flow computer
count backwards for the FCV to open as the screen under

• When the count goes to zero the FCV open and the transaction start as the screen under

• If no product pass through the meter zero flow alarm will be displayed

• To clear the alarm you press ENTER and the follow message appears on the display

• The passcode is 1 for clearing the alarms .So the operator press 1 to the keyboard and
enter and the alarm clears.

• If at any time ESD button pressed the follow message will appear

• If the ground of the vehicle or the overfill sensor are not work properly or the truck is
full with product ,the follow message will appear

• During transaction the operator can read many information’s. He must press enter and the
above screen will appear on the Accuload

• He selects the arm that want to read.Arm1 is the upper on the display. Arm 2 is the down one.

• So in our example we have transaction to Arm1 so we select with the arrows (2,8) Load Arm1
and press enter

• Then select product and press enter and the operator can read many information’s about
the transaction like flow rates, temperature (current and average) ,density, pressure etc.

• To read the totalizes , without having any transaction active the operator press enter and
select diagnostics menu

• Then the operator Press Enter and with arrows (2,8) finds the section :Non-Reset Volumes

• And press Enter .The follow screen appears and select meter.

• The operator Press Enter and selects Arm and Press Enter.

• When the transaction is finished the operator press Print to end the transaction and
tell to the driver to disconnect the truck from the Skid.
