Evolutionary Theory of

Charles Darwin
1. What are the significant contribution of Charles
Darwin?

Darwin’s greatest contribution to science is that he

completed the Copernican Revolution by drawing out for biology
the notion of nature as a system of matter in motion governed
by natural laws .With Darwin’s discovery of natural selection
the origin and adaptation of organism were brought into the
realm of science.
2.How can Charles evolutionary theory influence
their following fields in modern times?

Economy
After all Charles Darwin, was a naturalist, not a
economist. But Robert Frank, New York times economics
columnist and best-selling author of the economic
naturalist, predicts that within the next century Darwin
will unseat Smith as the intellectual founder of
economics.
Agriculture
❑ Can agriculture learn any lessons from Charles Darwin?

Denison says Darwin’s best argument for the power of natural selection
was borrowed from agriculture, specifically the success of plant and animal
breeders in improving crops and livestock simply by selecting which plants and
animals get to reproduce.

His theory helped to remove the old conventions and beliefs which
indicate that the formation of several species was the product of a
supernatural phenomenon caused by higher being (Wood, 2005)
Darwin’s evolutionary theory served science to give a more
rational explanation of the formation and existence of new
species. This was explained by the concept of natural
selection, where several species with a common ancestor can
only survive when they adapt to the medium, even when the
conditions of the medium change.
Politics Science

Evolution has never been just a scientific theory. Ever since it was first
properly formulated by Darwin, the theory has been used to advance a
variety of political projects. It is not only “social Darwinist’’ supporters of
laissez-faire capitalism who have claimed that their political ideals were
grounded in evolutionary theory. So have Nazis, communists, anarchists and
Fabian social engineers. Today, Darwinism is invoked as a part of campaign
against religion by people who claim to be liberals. Behind the rival political
programmers to which Darwinism has been yoked lies Huxley’s belief that
humankind is now in a position to direct its future evolution.
Religion
Not an atheist

His thought that is that evolution can help religious people affirm
that Gods creative work is a matter continuing engagement
overtime.

Darwin’s theory rejected by some religious communities as inherently

atheistic.

Darwin directly challenged was the new that God originally created
all species of plants and animals life, just as they exist today.
