Chapter 5

SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter briefly summarizes the research findings and presents

conclusion as well as the recommendations.

Summary

The purpose of the study was to determine the Impact of Experiential

Learning Activities to the students Thinking Skills. . The respondents of the

study contains of Sixty (60) Grade VI pupils from Pinagbayanan Elementary

School , Pila Laguna . This study was answer the following questions 1.)What

is the mean level of Bilingualism towards student’s competence with respect

to: Code Switching? 2.) What is the mean level of Student’s Competence in

English in terms of : Knowledge, Comprehension Application 3.)Is there a

significant effect of Bilingualism towards student’s competence?

The descriptive research design was used in this study to have an

adequate and accurate interpretation of findings. The research instrument

used in this study was questionnaire checklist wherein respondents need to

rate it.

The statistical treatment used was the mean, standard deviation, and

multiple Regression for two sample mean to determine the Effect of

Bilingualism towards students competence in Pinagbayanan Elementary

School Pila, Laguna.

Based on the data gathered of this study the findings of the study were

as follows: (1) In Bilingualism, the average mean of Bilingualism in terms of


Code-switching is 4.327 with standard deviation of 0.800 and interpreted as

“Very satisfactory”; (2) In Student’s Competence, the average mean of

Student’s Competence in terms of Knowledge is 4.390 with standard

deviation of 0.751 and interpreted as “Very Satisfactory”. The average mean

of Student’s Competence in terms of Comprehension is 4.303 with standard

deviation of and interpreted as “Very Satisfactory”. The average mean of

Student’s competence in terms of Applying is 4.297 with standard deviation of

0.699 and interpreted as “Very Satisfactory”; (3) The effect Bilingualism

towards student’s competence gathered the interpretation of “Not Significant".

Therefore, it only means the bilingualism has no effect to the student’s

competence of Grade VI pupils in Pinagbayanan Elementary School Pila,

Laguna.

Conclusions

Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are

obtained.

Based on the findings of the study, the question for the level of

Bilingualism towards student’s competence with to Code Switching shows an

interpretation ”Very Satisfactory”. The question for the level of students

competence shows an interpretation “ Very Satisfactory”. The effect of

Bilingualism towards Student’s competence of Grade VI pupils in

Pinagbayanan Elementary School Pila, Laguna gathered the interpretation “

Not Significant”.

Recommendations
1. As the study revealed Bilingual language or Bilingualism show an

important role for control processes of speaking two languages. So

teachers must be aware on code-switching to enhance student’s

competence.

2. Since that bilingualism refers to the utilization of two languages

as medium of instruction for students they need to ensure and help

the students for their academic growth.

3. For the Future researcher’s , a study of similar nature be made in

order to have further knowledge and strengthen the findings of this

researchers undertaking.
