C. ANALYSIS
→ The learners will be asked to make a brief study of Filipino social values.
They should be able to see a different type of ethnography that allows them to
examine mass media as a primary source of information. They will be shown a
television commercial that deals with or capitalize on Filipino values and other
related ideas as they promote their respective commodities or product.

→ The following are their guide questions:


1. What values among Filipinos are being promoted or identified in the
commercial?
2. in what particular aspect of life do we find these values useful or
contextualized?
3. How does the use of Filipino values enhance the message or marketing
of a commodity?

D. ABSTRACTION
* Institutionalized, layered, and patterned system of relationship upon
which a whole framework of relationship is based as if they are placed on
top of one another supporting the whole building or entity. Hence,
underlying society’s existence and ultimately human existence, are social
structures that consist of human patterened and institutionalized
relationships. They define the form and purpose of all interations,
expectations, productions, and meaning making.
E. APPLICATION
* They will be asked to be aware if these functions or role in the
community is properly observe.
* The learners should be able to identify their function in the community
they belong.

documented the life stories of Filipinos who have experienced and
withstood these kind of disasters.
* Whether individually or as a group, investigate and explore the world of
social media and how they document, relay, report, and communicate the

stories and experiences of people in times of disaster as part of the
psychosocial dimension of the situation.

H. APPLICATION
* Browse your social media or read newspaper. How do you see social
reality? How should we see it? How do we intend to change or reform it?

→ Check out Bamboo’s music video entitled. ‘Tatsulok’.
→ Discuss among your classmates the message behind the song. Reflect
particularly on the following lines: “habang may tatsulok, at sila ang nasa
tuktok, di matatapos ang gulo.”
→ Can you sense a tinge of Marxist framework in those lines and the
content of song?
→ Has the music video captured what the lyrics of the song has been
saying?
→ Expound further this ‘tatsulok’ by labelling and indicating who belong to
the various layers of this social structure?

D. ABSTRACTION
* Pay particular attention to how the stories in the song described the
social situation of our cmmunity and how it created a dilemma.
* On one hand, communicating social phenomena trhough songs so that
the public would know about their conditions so that potential help would
be possible and be realize. But on the other hand, the unethical and
intrusive show of tragedies, for public consumption and media
sensationalism.

* Discuss your findings and reflections in class. Show also some video clips
and excerpts from your data.
