Scenario and the Task


New product development (NPD) is the process of bringing a new product to market. A
product is a set of benefits offered for exchange and can be tangible (that is, something physical
you can touch) or intangible (like a service, experience, or belief). Since the requirements of the
customers are very dynamic, offering new products would help the business organizations to
survive in the market and retain their customers as well.

Assume that you are working as a marketing manager in an organization of your choice. You are
planning to introduce a new product/service with certain competitive advantages. The new
product could be a good (tangible) or a service (intangible) which is either purely
“innovative” or a “me too”. You are concerned about its marketing strategy before launching
the product successfully.
