ABC company’s manager has created a group of 5 members where they have given a task to

forecast for future sale of the company that how much they would sale in upcoming year and
make decision how much product they need to produce for upcoming year. They have given a
time limit to complete the task. By discussing with each other in group, the employees have
made a leader from the 5 members and decided that leader will divide the work between them
and lead them to complete the goal.
Leader has given task to first two members to collect the data from previous 10 years sale of the
company and give it to the third member who will input the data and make forecast for next year.
After forecasting the employee will give it to utmost two member, who will find out the error of
the forecast and give their decision how much the company should produce.
First two employees had collected all the data on time and give it to the third employee who will
forecast for future sale. But the third employee gets much pressure to do the forecast for future as
he is doing the work alone and he could not able to complete it on time. Because he cannot work
on pressure and because of the delay of previous work, the utmost employees could not able to
complete the work on time. So, there is an interdependence conflict between the employees due
to the interdependency of each other. There is another conflict between third employee and the
leader that is discrimination. Leader has given more pressure on the third employee whereas the
other employee work together and they had easier task to do.

Resolution:
To resolve the conflict situation, ABC company needs a negotiation process. Firstly, ABC
company needs to find out type, the reason and how the conflict occurs for planning. Here,
conflict situation arises from how the task is being done and the reason of conflict is the work
overload in one employee.
Secondly, the company needs to decide a negotiator according to definition of ground rules.
Thirdly, clarification and justification are needed for educating the members about the conflict
situation. In ABC company’s work task, the leader must be the one who plays the role of
negotiator to teach the members why the problem needs to be solved.
Then a solution must be selected for the conflict situation and finally the solution needs to be
implemented. As the conflict arise from work overload in the company, so here the leader needs
to communicate with the third employee and needs to assign another member with the third
employee for the forecasting. By doing this the forecasting task can be done on time, so that
other members can continue their task on time.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, it can be said that in the time of working in a group, it is possible to face a conflict
situation. But by knowing the reason and other fact related to the conflict, the conflict can be
resolved.
