Introduction
Information system is the way in which people interact with technology by the aim of supporting
business processes. The purpose of information systems is to transfer raw data into useful
information which can be used for decision making. Furthermore, these systems are designed
to support processes within an organization. Additionally, these systems aims to solve a current
problem by improving the ways that are done to accomplish specific processes. Whereas, these
processes are nothing but the tasks and business functions performed to achieve specific rules.
Children are considered the future builders of the nation, therefore, they should get the full right
to be protected in all considerations and safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. To
support this claim, there are many problems in life that may affect the child’s safety. One of
these is child abuse and neglect. As evolution of the world continue many problems continue to
appear as well. After looking at the importance of children's safety the idea of children tracking
system popped in mind. This system will be designed to support children’s safety by keeping an
eye on children via electronic means, and that will be achieved by making use of the new
wearable technology which can be worn by children to gather tracking information. The main
idea of the system that will be created is to enhance technology and children's safety by
building new system that will simply allow the parent to use the latest improved GPS systems
that will be embedded in the wearable technology to identify their kid’s location. Moreover, the
creative part of this system is that the wearable technology that will be designed to target
parents who have children between the ages of 4 - 12 to be tracked at all times when the
parents are away. The system will have brand new styles of rubber bracelets that are keeping
up with fashion to make it more appealing for children to wear. Additionally, the bracelets will
also include SOS buttons that will send alerts directly to the parent’s mobile phone connected to
it in case of an unlikely accident or emergency. Overall, the supported company that will allow
us to implement this system is ​MOI (​Ministry of Interior) Child Protection Centre ​which has the
following business profile .

The Child Protection Center of the Ministry of Interior includes the values that are necessary for

their existence and definition and is a source of workflow, so these are some of the values

derived from the Ministry of Interior, some of the basic and important values of how to

communicate with children are Justice and Human Rights, Innovation and Excellence, and

Fairness.

Starting off with the justice and human rights concept, everyone will be treated equally

regardless of gender or religion and everyone will be respected. Moreover, to lead and maintain

teamwork spirit we are committed to achieve the goals in the spirit of teamwork, and also by

encouraging and rewarding the creators of innovative ideas and implementing innovative ideas in

a positive way that will help Development in the society in general, which supports the value of

innovation and excellence .

One of the goals of the Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Center is to make the UAE a safe

place for children living here as well as visitors. A third value is fairness in which the Ministry of

Interior's Child Protection Center will endeavor to ensure that everyone, including children and

families, is treated fairly in any matter related to child protection.

Service & function

​The main services and functions of MOI include the following , Continuous and advanced
development of child protection strategies and policies through strategic planning, as well as
conducting research, providing required needs such as internal and external training, and
statistical data analysis. Secondly, compliance and regulation - Compliance with required
policies, as well as investigation and protection, handling and repair of complaints.Thirdly,
community outreach - through awareness raising and also the development of partnerships.
Moreover, they must cooperate with the media, organize and participate in national and
international conferences and events. In addition, support services in which they include the
supplementation of support administration, Information Technology, and support record
keeping.

Our consumers can be any person who is interested in keeping an eye on their kids can easily

contact MoI Child Protection Centre – parents, children, worried adults or professional people

like teachers, educators, doctors, police etc.

Competitors

Any business or organization has competitors. Our competitors might be other organizations or

products with similar tasks and functions such as Relay Screenless Smartphone and Verizon

GizmoWatch which was developed by verizon organization. Both products are tracking systems

from different organizations with similar to out tasks. However, our product has an advanced

feature which is a 3D embedded cameras and might lighter than those products.

Anticipated System Improvements

In our system, because of the enormous number of children and people we need to be extremely

accurate of the information and data that is shared by encrypting them, to block any third party

entrance to the private data. In addition, we will also keep up with fashion through creating

various creative bracelets to attract children. In addition, we will regularly release application

updates which will aim to make our system more user-friendly and satisfy the needs of our

customers.
Future Direction

At the first stages , our company will preserve continuous development. Therefore, until the

future, the system will be updated within significantly greater form following technology

changes and the developing to the requirement of management that will maintain customer’s

satisfaction through user involvement. In addition, this system will reduce the number of

abduction and loss cases which will target living in a safe place with your loved ones.

A preliminary investigation report

Kids are very active and energetic begins, they’re playful and their activities require a lot of movement

which can easily lead to their disappearance from our sight. Parents cannot monitor their kids and keep

them in front of their eyes for 24/7, which means that the child can get lost anytime and anywhere. The

loss of children is a public issue that is not aligned to the world, in fact there are several cases of children

lost and not found until this day. In addition, our GPS tracking system can help people of Determination

and disabilities, especially children in which they have no control of their behaviors. Therefore, finding a

solution for this issue is a must or at least to reduce it if it cannot be eliminated because even hiring

babysitters is not enough especially for those who are between the ages 4 to 12.

One of the suggested solutions in order to solve this problem is to provide a professional and accurate

child tracking system that will help the parents to track every single step of their kid, as well as it will

save time and effort. Moreover, this tracking system consists of two main deliverables which are

application and bracelet, the application will include a high resolution tracking program that identifies the

location with 3D images as well as people that are present in that particular location and that will be

through the camera embedded in the bracelet that will be on the child's wrist. This bracelet is made with

high precision, it has sensors and micro-sized camera that records everything that happens around the
child, it also has a water resistance specialty that means it’s waterproof and it’s against breaking and

cracking too! And that is because the bracelet is well made and covered with a thick layer of rubles.

Feasibility study

Operational feasibility

Regarding to the child tracking system the rate of child loss will be dramatically reduced once this system

is introduced and accessible to everyone, because the existence of this system will make it easier for

parents to monitor their children and reduce the sense of anxiety in terms of loss of the child. This system

requires training for users in order to understand the way the system works and be able to use it.

Factually, the users should be involved in planning the new system right from the start since they will use

it so they should have an idea about every single detail that is related to the system.

Technical feasibility

System developers must have all the necessary technologies to create this software accurately,

professionally, and error free. In addition, developing the tracking system requires technical expertise to

build it in an efficient way, also the existence of an IT department is a must too so that it will handle all

the responsibilities of computer and network services and servers. The development of such a system will

be very expensive since it requires precision, availability of high quality technologies, and experts in the

field as well, but ultimately such a system must be developed to reduce this crisis and spread reassurance

in the society.
Economic feasibility

Building a high precision tracking system could cost around 100,000 AED and that estimation was

derived from encountering the tangible costs which include software, hardware, programmer, Web

designer, and the employees salaries. Whereas, the intangible costs that will be covered in our case is the

(ISP) Internet Service Provider, government taxes and electricity. The salaries of the developers and the

training sessions to teach how to use this system will be within the total value. The price of the bracelet

including downloading the application and usage learning courses will cost about 500 to 1,000 dirhams

per package which will be sold to the supportive government sector. Furthermore, the government is

aiming to reduce the cost even further so that individuals’ have the capability of buying the GPS tracking

system. Moreover, with the use of social media to advertise the number of consumers will increase.

Moreover, there are two types of benefits: tangible and intangible benefits that will be tackled in this

system. A tangible benefit would be the profit in which there will be an increase in the profit since it is the

first implemented idea in UAE. whereas, a considered intangible benefit would be the reputation of our

product and consumers' rating. As a result, benefits will exceed the costs since the GPS tracking system

is precisely built as per customer satisfaction .

Schedule feasibility

Regarding the schedule of the project, we must develop our tracking system in a timely manner. First, we

should consider generating a schedule, in which tasks should be completed within the specified time. In

addition, a checklist should be produced to make sure that we are on track and finish within the project

completion date.

Our goal is to complete the project within one year. Furthermore, there are many requirements that we

should follow in order to complete the project within the expected date. One requirement would be

gathering all resources that are required for successfully developing the system. Another requirement

would be completing the tasks that are scheduled on time. In addition, we should hire professionals and IT

experts to help in developing the tracking system. Finally, we should test the system to look out for any

further improvements that we could implement to the system.

Recommendation to Management

To conclude, a very important recommendation to the management of the children tracking system, all the

management features must be available before the system is released to everyone since it’s related to a

child’s life, the users may experience a problem and need to review the management so it’s preferable to

provide all the services in the system and then establish it.
Business Process Modelling
 System Requirements

Business requirements:
● Reduce the risk of losing your child - GPS tracking system will allow parents to keep an eye on
their child’s location. Therefore, children won’t get lost.

● Increase income - The organization will benefit from this product since there are many children
who get lost/kidnapped and parents would like to buy this GPS tracking system for the safety of their
children.

● Ease of use - The GPS tracking system will be efficient and very easy to use which means that it
will be built to be user-friendly.

● Good reputation - Developing and applying the GPS tracking system in an efficient way will
help in the improvement of the organization’s reputation.

User requirements:

● Track children - Parents will be allowed to track their children to make sure that they are where
they are supposed to be at and view their location.
● Receive notifications and alerts - Parents will receive notifications if an event occurred such as
the change of the location of the child. As well as, the SOS button on the bracelet sends notifications if
any unlikely accident occurs.
● Simple and easy to understand - An individual needs a simple and efficient GPS tracking
system not complicated and hard to use ones.
● Safe technology - The GPS tracking system will come in the form of wearable light bracelets
that come in many different colors to make it appealing to children.
● Protection of children - The GPS will protect children against abduction, crime, and violence.
● Cost-effective - Not all individuals are wealthy. Therefore, individuals need the bracelet to be
cost-effective.
System requirements (Functional):
1. Process-Oriented:
● View child’s location - The system needs to view a child’s location in which parents will see.
● Send alerts - The system will send alerts and notifications for parents in case something
unexpected happens.
● Customer service/support - Parents might need help with something so we will be providing
them with customer service section.
● Embedded technology - There is a micro-sized camera embedded in the bracelet that will show
you everything around the child.
2. Information oriented:
● Child’s information - The system needs to have the child’s personal information such as name,
age, height, weight, etc…
● Parents contact information - The system needs to have the parents’ mobile numbers and emails
if necessary.
● Authentication - Parents will create user accounts to access the application that will allow them
to track their children.

System requirements (Non-functional):

1. Operational:
● Mobile - The platform that our system will be working on is on the mobile specifically, an
application.
● Support organization - Our system will be supported by an organization that’s called MOI child
protection center which will allow us to implement the system.
2. Performance:
● Fast - since our system will focus on children and focuses on serious cases, we need to develop
a fast system to support the parents needs.
● Efficient - Our system should achieve maximum productivity to satisfy our consumers’ needs
and wants.
● Accurate - Our information system should be accurate in which it should provide parents with
accurate information about their child.
● Availability: Our information system should be accessible and available at all times to improve
productivity.
3. Security:
● Parents - Parents are allowed to access our system because it contains information about their
children.
● Administration - In case something happens, the administration will access the system. In
addition, the administration has security software that will keep customers’ information secure.
4. Cultural and political:
● Our system will be multilingual; in which it will concentrate on two main languages; Arabic
and English.
