Globalization of culturethrough social media

Introduction:

Are we curiouson how we abruptly adapt those cultures from

other country without influencing it personally on the first hand?
Well, in the modern times, distance is no longer a hindrance
to live with such shared cultures. We often say that colonization is
part of cultural globalization and yes, indeed it plays a big role
in influencing cultures from one country to another. But let’s
just say, how about those country who didn’t even affected with
colonization, but still affected with the globalization of culture. For
some reasons, we people mostly engaged ourselves with the western
type of living or even to their entertainmentindustry. We easily
hooked up by the environment they are trying to present.
According to a study, the interconnectedness in the said of
interest was because of media. Media was created to spread
information and as well entertainmentto us people. The way we
style ourselves and the choice of our music is mainly influenced
through media. Media somehow unconsciously conscious made us realized
that we are practicing the cultures of other country, most
especially those who belonged to the south. Media has emerged in
any different way. Deny it or not, we are like being infected
by this syndrome. Media is largely a cultural product, and the
transfer of such a product is likely to have an influence
on the recipient's culture. Media in globalization pave its way to
easily connect with the people and the nation itself. Globalization in the
current times is part of our daily living. Even if how much we
avoid, it would still make it way and somehow a stain that will
last longer in the next generations.

Thesis statement :

The use of media is like the head of globalization, whereas

it lead into different directions and leave an influential factors that
will evoke oneselfto derive in a sense of cultural adaptation and
fasten it in the means of connecting ideas and as well as
sharingcultures on how it affects the every aspect on how the people
live in a nation.

The role of media in globalization is undefinable in the talk

of scope and boundaries. As the media emerged, globalization of culture
also increased in enlarging its variety. First, we tackle about the
most common and known effects of culture globalization. We Filipinos are
being colonized with three major country. And as part of it, their
cultures was inherited and influenced to us and we lived by
it continuously even in the present. Hence, even if media increases
the possibility of culture globalization, we are not new to this.
However, media is probably one of the reason why we
engaged ourselves with the norm of other countries. Most especially
teenagers nowadays are hooked up with western culture and as
well as being fond to Korean industry which media is undeniably
one of the root in the self-involvement of teens. By just one
click or just sort of showing short clip advertisement, we can
be easily persuaded and fascinated, and that will be start of our
curiosity to get to know more about it. Media in cultural e
globalization makes it easier to reach out people. With the use
technologies and other platforms, sharingcultures is never impossible.

In the view of politics, the flow and how the government

applies and exercise its power to govern people can also be affected
with culture globalization through media. With shared cultures in the means
political view, government between parties of different countries can
openly talk for the growthof industrialized and stable country. Media for
acquiring awareness of both meeting countries. Our government can
also be monetized easily if they did a move that is against in
the welfare of its constituents. As well as, sharingtheir ideas on
how to run on their governance much better and communicating for
process and effects of their actions. On the other hand, we can
also relate to the economy of the country. The media industry
is, in many ways, perfectfor globalization, or the spread of global trade
without regard for traditional political borders. Media is a
great tool for promoting local products to other countries that is
also beneficial for the improvement and progression of our country.
In other round, media in cultural globalization in talk of economy
is a deal for applying those techniques and what is trend for
the progression of the country itself.

On the one hand, the mass media, as communications technologies,

have contributed enormously to worldwide modernization. Television and
radio, along with the printedword, have disseminated "modern" culture aroundthe
globe. Of course modern culture is always someone's culture. It was
a modern morality tale caused by, and then made possible by,
the intersection of media technology and culture. Culturecan be
affected both negatively and positively; therefore new media can impact
our norms and traits in the same way. Culturecan be affected both
negatively and positively; therefore new media can impact our norms and
traits in the same way. If we’ll apply in real life, media affects the
way way addressed ourselves. For reasons like how we perceived
fashion. Our old style can be seen as weird for we rarely see
it on social media and as the world being modernized, our thinking
was also changing. Also one way to think carefully
about the role of media in modernizationis to look at past socio-
cultural changes relatedto communication, such as the shift from
an "oral culture" to a "print culture," from a world where most
communication is almost entirely verbal to one where much of the
most crucial forms of communication occur in writing and print. We live
in a print culture: we think of illiteracy as a social
problem. On the other hand, the ease of connecting through
technology and communicating online does have an impact on culture locally
and globally as more and more people choose to communicate online instead
of in person. We are used to live with technologies just like
gadgets. Which just one click, we can easily search of things that is
hard to find aroundpersonally. Thus, media in culture globalization in the
means of modernizationare relevant for the generation the we used
to lived upon is more advanced than before.
Media is indeed a bridge for reconnecting people and more advanced
in reaching cultures. Our world turns aroundand so does the table
of each country. It feels nice to adapt new culture and experience
the way other county lived even without living their physically. However,
as tries to engageourselves with new practices, there might instances
that we experienced crisis of our own identity culture. The more
we tried to be someone on what we seen on media, we neglect
our origin. The traditional style may be forgotten and will just leave
it as it is. As one of the research, it emphasize
that the efforts made to conform to the aggressive culture or
interpret western culture in variousparts of the world have had
disastrous results and have revealed insurmountable cultural gaps. Thus,
it is impossible to create a global culture with this procedure, and
it only widens the existing gap between cultures. Even some local
languages and valuable traditions are on the verge of disappearance
as the result of globalization. Global consumerism is now forming a
homogeneous global culture where indigenous cultures are being replaced by
Western cultures and other existing great factors for cultural
influence.

The globalization of culture through media encourage us to live

by it day by day. Interchanging cultures and engaging ourselves
with other’s life style is a great deal for showing our connection
to them. Putting our feet to shoes and walk upon things that is new
and trend. Somehow, as we tried to fit in, we might forget that
we had also our own made culture. Well, there is nothing about
sharingcultures and reconnecting with people and the how media works. Media
is one of the essential tool to live in this modern world.
The awareness and self consciousness to continue kick and survive in
a complex dimension. All in all, the role of media in the
globalization of culture have an important impact. Whereas, the mass
media are seen today as playinga key role in enhancing globalization,
facilitating culture exchange and multiple flows of information and image
between countries through international news broadcasts, television
programming, new technologies, film and music. Lastly, media has both pros and
cons, it is up to us on how we use it rightfully and
productively in the means of globalization.

In my own point of view, this type of editorial cartoon
shows what is the reality in the side of politics and the use of
media on how it affects us people. The image obviously present
that even if the truth was revealed, still hindrances will try to
abide. As we all know, media was supposed to spread relevant and
valid information to us citizen who lived in a certain country. There
were also tagline “Reporting truth and everything will be exposed”. Well
yes, that was the main purpose of media. Neglecting biases and letting
the truth only prevails. However, as we are living in a world
where worse are getting worst and false becomes normalized, it is so
hard to give our trust and stay with just one belief. Media was like
being encrypted with the said politicians. By just listening to a
local radio, each of the station ironically speaks about revealing truth, but
somehow they are just only protecting each of their politicians.
Arguing about something that is also nothing. Or even in the
national television news, we can definitely noticed the world of
politics entered and played well the media. Politicians right now or even
in the past are not just only politicians but also clowns.
Making people believethat everything was true about them and just
keeping us mesmerized by those bubble propaganda. Promises that only
last for a short period of time. In today’stime, it is so hard
to believeand let a person sit in a higher position to do
the so called change. Actually, if we experience difficulties as
a nation, some people will just say “We can’t do anything, we are
just living in a third world country”, like this kind of tagline
becomes norm and we people just dealt with it. There was at some
point that I question, are these politicians really want to lend their
service to people or just want to earn money through makingpeople
believed that they serve. Some politicians are getting respected with such
thing that they do not deserve. Politics nowadays are just barely
politics. Telling media what are the covered surface and not letting
know the real truth beyond. Even if we lived in a poor
country, we must not also let it affect our mindset. We always
seek for changeyet we always chose those wrong politicians. We may not
be fall by those sugar coated promises. Money can do anything in
the world, as for money is world and people get tempted by these
people that are not worthy. As for the media, you may stand what
is the truth and use that platform for the betterment of our
county.
