I. ADVOCACY STATEMENT:
“Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.”
II. RATIONALE:
The Devastation brought to the Visayas was unprecedented. Central
Visayas, particularly in Bohol experienced the 7.2 magnitude of earthquake last October
15, 2013 in which hundreds of lives were lost and injured as well asthousands of
houses and establishments were destroyed. It was the deadliest earthquake in our
country for the past 23 years. Moreover, super typhoon Yolanda landed in Eastern
Visayas and other neighboring provinces last November 8, 2013 in which thousands of
innocent lives were lost and even houses and establishments were not spared.
Thousands of Filipinos across the region still cry for aids and reliefs. The needs of so
many are far greater than any individual and institutions can provide. And if is only
through a collective effort that we can truly make a difference in the lives our affected
fellow Filipinos. Let us all continue to do whatever we can offer to our countrymen in
these most trying of times.
One of the primary aims of the EDUAction Center is to uplift the educational
status of our community. In relation to this, the TuLak (Turo at Lakbay) Project has been
implemented which envisions to educate children who were affected by the calamities
through conducting stress debriefing sessions, storytelling, team building activities,
proper hygiene enrichments, feeding and a lot more.
