Sanitation (cover slaps) feed back monitoring in M/Mooge.

After DRC team assessed the sanitation needs in M/Mooge resettlement, and agreed
to gives sanitation cover slaps to those families who have excavated the latrines hole.

DRC provided 200 cover slaps and 200 bags of cements for those people who have
excavated the pit latrines, in m/mooge through TUMO organization. And the
monitoring team monitored if all beneficiaries of this project fixed the cover slaps on
to pit latrines. And the monitoring feed back was as follows (team observed)

 The team supervised 174 cover slaps

 169 pieces were fixed
 5 pieces not yet fixed, but they promised that they will
fixed as soon as possible,
 26 pieces not yet supervised, but with assistance of
TUSMO we are keeping on eye on to the remaining, very
soon.

Other needs
The people, who have received the cover slaps, were waiting the bricks from DRC, as
they knew that DRC provided previous time both slaps and bricks to each families
who had completed the hole. (Many families were not used of the latrines because;
they were not able to make the latrine wall/barrier)
More than 200 families excavated the hole and waiting the caver slaps.
The community in area needs sanitation awareness.

Recommendation:
 200 cover slaps should released the second phase
 Basic health education should be promote in the area (let
people realized the advantage of using latrines) especially
house wives and school children.
 Bricks to all beneficiaries who have received the slaps (if
budget allows), because many families still were not using
the latrines since they were waiting bricks from DRC.
