Workflow for EPS in Petrel RE

using Log Based Saturation

• Log based saturation is used in the absence of Capillary
Pressure Curves or in the absence of transition zone.
• This is not SWATINIT, as SWATINIT scales the Capillary
pressure curves when the end point changes
• The following workflow shows the use of log based
saturation.
• This method uses end point scaling, here the initial and
critical water saturations have the same values.
Critical Water Saturation

Connate Water Saturation

Residual Water and Gas Saturation

Connate and Critical Gas Saturation

• This will have an array of end points at each cell and then it
will use the relative permeability curves, for the dynamic
flow.
• The SOWCR and SOGCR in this case is calculated by
SOWCR=(1-SUWI)*.30 and SOGCR=SOWCR
• The SGU is calculated as SGU=1-SUWI-SOWCR
• SWU can be 1 or 0.9 and the critical gas and connate gas
will be equal to 0
