As social interaction happen, every individual learn to express who they are,
what they feel and their insights about something. It simply means communication
is the key for us to not to feel like prisoners of our own cell. In life we are free, live
who we are, make things that can make us happy and find someone who can
understand and accept our true color.
Now, take time to reflect on these questions:

Why do you think it is important to study  

communication? 

"To learn is to communicate". A particular student who understand the

lesson will actively participating in the interaction that happen during the class
discussion. This is the reason why we need to study communication for us to learn
how to express and understand about something. We need to keep in mind that
communication is about teaching our mind to teach and to learn.

How would our life be without

communication?

Communication is everything in life. Even animals or plants they have their

own way of communication. It is because communication is the key to understand
everything in this planet. A scientist who want to discover something he or she
need to communicate to get the exact information for his or her discovery. This
means without communication life is pointless like an empty space meaning
without meaning.

Directions: Think of a conversation that happened in the past. You are to illustrate
the communication setting as well as the communication process that took place in
that  context. You may draw or use figures for your illustrations. Make sure to
include clear labels.

RECIEVER
 “That’s What You See, That’s What You Say” 
Directions: Below are pictures that show different communication settings. All
you  have to do is to describe what you see in the picture by identifying the nature,
process,  type and context of the communication. You may also identify who are
the speaker  and the receiver in the picture. 

1. A circle of friends having fun while talking or discussing something. In this picture, the
guy is telling about something to his friends it means he is the sender of the message and
his friends are the receiver. The communication takes place in a coffee shop or in a
certain room in the work field. This picture is a discussion and not a speech we can
consider it as small group communication so it means the receiver can give his or her
feedback to the sender. It simply means that this communication has two way process of
communication.

2. Two ladies are talking about something. In this picture, that lady with an eyeglass is
sharing something that means she is the sender of the message while that lady in white is
the receiver of the message. The communication happens in a certain room with privacy
cause it seems that they are discussing something confidential. This is a verbal
communication with a dyadic or face to face interaction I assume that probably after that
lady with an eyeglass the lady in white will react or give her feedback It simply means
that this communication has two way process of communication.

3. Husband and wife having their sweet talks. In this picture, the responsible husband is
listening to his lovely wife that means he is the receiver of the message while his lovely
wife is the sender of the message. The communication happens in a certain room of their
house which is good for fun time and relaxation. This is a verbal communication with a
dyadic or face to face interaction it is obvious that after hearing those sweet talks coming
from his lovely wife the responsible husband will react or give his feedback. It simply
means that this communication has two way process of communication.

4. The guy is reading a certain article in his laptop. In this picture, the guy is the receiver of
the message because he is reading a certain article written by someone and the author of
the article is the sender of the message. The communication happen in a certain room
good for studying or analyzing something. This is still verbal communication specified as
written communication because articles use words to discuss a certain topic or issue.
Since the author of the article will not know the feedback of this guy I can say that it is a
one way process of communication.

 “A or B? Choose Wisely” 
Directions: You are going to select only one among the tasks enumerated below.
You  need to choose either A or B, but you need to choose wisely. Your output
will be  graded based on the given scoring rubrics below. Also, your output for this
activity  may be submitted to our Google Classroom or in a soft copy saved in a
flash drive. 

“UNDERSTAND ME”

There are sixty seconds in one minute, sixty minutes in one hour, twelve hours
in one day, seven days in one week, five weeks in one month and twelve months in
one year but you need to understand that communication happen in anytime and
anywhere. Communications define everything in life. Take a look when someone
answers your questions. Mind someone who try to understand you. Reflect to those
moments where you want to be alone trying to understand what you feel about
something. Everything is learned through communication. Imagine the process
where the baby smile and learn to say "Dadda" or "Momma". It happened because
the baby communicates with his or her parents.

This lesson gives me idea what communication is really all about. It's not
just a certain topic but what is the importance of communication in my life. It's not
just about the definition given but its all about how we give meaning on our own
way and express who really we are. The power of communication evolves over
time. Imagine how large building exist, how technology being discovered and how
every individual understand each other it is all because of the word
communication.
Every second our brain is processing hundreds of relevant and irrelevant
information that's why we need someone that is willing to understand and hear our
voice. Someone that is willing to give and accept. Appreciate those rare people
who choose to choose you even if they know your demon side and you will
understand what life is. The secret is that people uses their mouth to communicate
but real friends speaks through their heart. This is me and that is you. Always
remember the key point is that without communication life is pointless like an
empty space meaning without meaning
