Use of Air-Cooled Blast Furnace Slag (ACBFS) as Replacement of Coarse and Fine

Aggregate in Concrete.
Objective of study
 To study different physical properties of Air-Cooled Blast Furnace Slag (ACBFS) and Natural
aggregate.
 To develop a mix design of M20, M25 and M30 grade of concrete for natural and ACBFS
aggregate by using Supplementary Cementitious Material.
 To investigate Mechanical and Durability properties for conventional concrete and ACBFS
concrete.

Scope of work
To achieve above objective the Scope of work of Major Project contains Experimental work
related to mechanical and durability properties of ACBFS concrete and comparing it with
conventional concrete.
 ACBFS aggregate and Natural aggregate properties are to be studied as per respective IS
codes as presented in Table below.

 Natural aggregates are to be replaced with ACBFS aggregate by 15%,20% and 25%, and
mix design trials are to be prepared using supplementary cementitious Materials as
presented in Table below.
