1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The main objective of this project  is infrastructure development in Eburumiri aka
community, igboeze south Enugu Nigeria.
This community Lack basic infrastructure such as good access roads. This makes it
difficult for people to access markets and services. ... It is also linked with poor
health and low school enrolment.
The Poor road conditions have lead to more than just a bumpy ride. The Roads has
deteriorated to the level where it has become dangerous for Eburumiri aka
community... the road has cause many driver to lose control of their vehicle,
leading to a crash or rollover accident injuring the driver, passengers, pedestrians
and this has cause drivers spend more on their cars and road users spend more
on transport fares.

Construction of Road in this community is a very important public asset. A society

relies on a good road system as the basis to access jobs, health care, education
and social connections. It is a crucial element in the development of a community
on a localised level and a country's economic growth nationally and globally.
The project site is approximately 12 KM road form Ibagwa-aka city to Eburumiri
aka community in Enugu Region Nigeria.
The project was identified to be the priority for infrastructure support to socio-
economic development. Building and constructing the road will improve road
network, resulting into higher availability of farm inputs at a low price. It will
brings about employment opportunities. It will increases access to social
amenities and It will play a vital role of promoting development in Eburumiri
community.
The project will in addition provide easy access to the ports for high value
agricultural products for export; give rise to other socio-economic benefits and
have a significant impact on poverty reduction in this Community.

ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE
Eburumiri Infrastructure Development mostly operates in rural area, the aim of its
establishment is to give power to people to decide and participate in development
activities in our area, and be able to support the vulnerable members of the society.
The major activities of the organization are to support infrastructure development
in the society.
The project will be implemented by the management team of the (EFD) The
secretary will be the overall coordinator of the project. The secretary holds Masters
in Development Studies from Chancellor College and Bachelor of Environmental
Sciences from Nasarawa state University and has worked with World Vision as a
Project Manager before. So he is the right person for the position. He will be
assisted by the chairperson. The chairperson will be the supervisor for all the
construction works. The treasurer will be responsible for issuing of approved
cheques for payments.
The procurement process will be done through bids and an Internal Procurement
Committee (IPC) in accordance with standard procurement procedures and
regulations. Our policy in procurement preaches about zero corruption. The vice
secretary of the (EFD) will be the Chairperson of the IPC.

Road construction is an important part of every society, as automobiles have come

to play major roles in our day to day lives. Roads are constructed to ensure that
people, goods and services can be moved freely and easily from one place to
another. This is why every government pumps in millions of dollar into road
projects year in year out.

Nigeria is obviously the highest with 40% or more. Therefore, our calculations
show that the cost of road construction in Nigeria is between $773,196.00 per
kilometer.
