Bladon MTG - Simple, Reliable, Scalable

• Simpler to deploy than a hybrid genset

• More scalable lower service costs than fuel cells
• Ideal for…
• Offgrid, especially remote and/or rural sites
• Badgrid sites
• Essential Backup/High value sites
• Markets exposed to load shedding
• Noise, air quality sensitive sites
• Ideal replacement for DG’s of up to 20kVA
• Supplement with solar PV, wind to reduce fuel consumption
• Lower Total Cost of Ownership.

Future Proof Power
Service Once a Year
• Regardless of run hours

Fuel economy - Flexibility

• Blend fuels, kerosene, diesel, bio-fuels

• Low carbon fuels (HVO) where available

• Variable speed optimizes efficiencies for all site loads

Stage V standard equivalent
• Low emissions, ultra quiet

• Ideal for natural habitat/residential sites Offgrid : Johannesburg, South Africa

Multi-faceted Approach Towards Carbon Footprint Reduction

90% 100% 40%

• Up to 90% reduction in technician vehicle travel costs & carbon

footprint due to site service intervals being reduced to once per year
• Engine oil costs and oil disposals reduced by 100% due to air bearing
technology in Micro Turbine Genset (MTG). No engine oil needed.
• Carbon emissions from fuel consumption reduced by up to 40%
compared to Stage V emissions standard – most diesel gensets are NOT
Stage V compliant without expensive and maintenance intensive parts
• Bladon will deliver other fuel support options including
• Efuels – carbon neutral fuels like e-diesel
• Bio fuels
• LPG/CNG

MTG Value Proposition – Reducing OPEX - Reducing emissions

• Reducing fuel costs

• through use of cheaper and/or blended fuels like kerosene to reduce overall monthly fuel opex and reduce fuel theft by making
the fuel unusable for diesel engines or cooking purposes
• fuel blend can be in ANY proportion without harming the Bladon MTG
• Future support for efuels, biofuels, and natural gas
• Reduced generator maintenance, wear and tear is reduced and simplified
• Bladon MTG needs one simple site service per year regardless of runhours
• Just replace 2 air filters and 1 fuel filter and inspection of the single fuel injector
• Bladon MTG contains a sealed maintenance free power plant, with one moving part running on patented air bearings, giving it
longer design life of over 25,000 run hours
• no engine oil or liquid coolant required which brings oil/coolant costs and disposal costs to zero (and is better for the
environment)
• No major services, overhauls or refurbishing is required of the MTG
• After 25,000 hours of runtime, Bladon and its partners will offer upgrades paths to extend the operational life of the MTG.

CLEAN POWER – TODAY AND FOR THE FUTURE

ULTRA LOW EMISSIONS

Zero Carbon Particulates
Zero HC (hydro-carbons) & CO (carbon monoxide)
50% NOx (nitrogen oxides) reduction – compared to equivalent diesel
generator

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY
No catalytic reactor – with environmentally destructive platinum group
metals
No lubrication oil disposal – as air bearings utilised
Reduction in pollution – from up to 95% fewer service journeys

BLADON MTG – Reducing carbon and pollution

Cleaner, Quieter
• The Bladon MTG provides
• a clean path to using lower carbon emitting fuels
• eliminates 100% of engine oil or liquid coolant, and delivers better than
Stage V equivalent emissions compliance
• eliminates over 1,000 kg per year of soot/particulates for every 50 sites
running site loads of 6kW
• virtually eliminates toxic particulates from diesel emissions and emits
less than 40% of CO, HC/NOx emissions than the standard.
• Low noise of <60dB @ 7m
• Ultra low vibration – means unique ways to locate the MTG compared to
rumbling diesel gensets
• Ideal for urban sites near residential areas

Carbon and Pollutants Reduction Factors

Switching to Micro Turbine Gensets CO2 reduction per site per annum
• Immediately eliminate 100% engine oil and liquid coolant costs and disposal costs • 140kg CO2 / site / annum*
• Remove up to 90%+ of site service visits, removing average of 10,500km driving per
site, increased health and safety, lower resource need, and lower personnel risk*
• Lower Fuel consumption particularly for low load offgrid sites (~ 20% lower • 1,925kg CO2 /site/annum*
consumption), **
• Eliminates over 1,000 kg per year of soot/particulates for every 50 sites running
site loads of 6kW • 15,800kg CO2 /site/annum **
• Using kerosene/paraffin will lower per liter fuel costs by up to 30%
• Use HVO fuel and reduce CO2 by 90% compared to regular diesel

Notes: * assume service visits every 250 run hours to site with average roundtrip distance of
300km and replacing 7 liters of engine oil per service
Bladon MTG requires 1 service visit per year, no oil required

Simple configuration allows optimum cost controls per site

• Simple configuration by combining Micro Turbine Genset with

batteries as backup.
• Add supplementary renewables where available to reduce fuel
consumption
• Site service visits are limited to one per year regardless of
configuration or runhours
• Fuel tank size can be selected to minimise refuelling visits and to suite
the site loads and other energy sources.
• Using low cost kerosene (domestic heating oil) instead of more
expensive diesel
• Potential for using 0-100% HVO fuel (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) to
reduce net carbon emissions by up to 90%.
