DRAWING CONCLUSION

Another important skill for effective listening is to be able to draw a conclusion for any
listening task. A precise conclusion can only be drawn after a listener has fully understood
the task and based on which, an opinion is formed to make decisions. Drawing a
conclusion may sometimes require understanding information that is not directly stated in
a listening text. In other words, to be able to make a good conclusion, one needs to read
between the lines and use his or her background knowledge to make an inference and
form a conclusion.
