NSTP: Assignment #2

1) In 100 words or less, write the role of youth in nation building through NSTP.
Through the National Service Training Program (NSTP) mandated by the constitution of
the law, the youth plays a very big and important part in nation building. Such responsibilities of
the youth include to respond and to raise awareness on youth issues. It is also to encourage our
involvement in public and civic affairs. Also, to identify priority needs, prevailing attitudes, and
gals in service delivery. Then, to serve as the government's guide in policy formulation and
program development. It is also expected to share ideas and gain valuable insights and networks
to help them in their youth development efforts.

2) Make a reaction paper on what you have learned on the NSTP Virtual Orientation Video.
After watching the NSTP Virtual Orientation Video, I have learned a lot of key points to
remember and on understanding the major highlights of the National Service Training Program
(NSTP), especially under the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and its proponents on
service dimensions and objectives for trainees. The orientation started with the opening prayer
song, then followed with the national anthem “Lupang Hinirang”, “Panatang Makabayan”,
“Panunumpa sa Watawat”, and TUP Hymn. These are the essentials of beginning a formal event.
Then, the video also included the Mission, Vision and Core Values of TUP. This helped me
further on understanding the goals and vision of my school that aims better future for its student
to be the foundation of the nation. Additionally, the RA 9163 or known as the ‘NSTP Law' was
aforementioned which states the responsibility and vital role of youth to the nation by developing
their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being.

Amid the crisis that we are facing through today, the department of NSTP and its
corresponding team on delivering education to students has become a great challenge and thus
being considered as under the ‘new normal’. Along with these tough times, it is still expected to
have comprehensive learning bound by the traditional method of teaching which is through
online class, by sorting out the six fundamental aspects of services that NSTP-CWTS offers to its
trainees that include: 1) Safety & Security, 2) Education, 3) Recreation, 4) Value Formation &
Moral Recovery, 5) Industry & Entrepreneurship, and 6) Care for Health. I have reflected that by
this method of learning, I can still have an insight for better knowledge to inquire upon taking
this program and I am assessing myself on how to do better in this subject.

Furthermore, it was mentioned the other two components of NSTP – which is Reverse
Officers Trainings Course (ROTC) and Literacy Training Service (LTS). Upon the conclusion of
this orientation, I can therefore say to myself that this material has helped me very much on
understanding the fundamentals of the NSTP and it also gave me more positive insights that I
overlook in the future while I study and learn in the midst of the new mode of educational
learning system.
3) Make a diagram that will explain the legal bases and chronology of events in the passage of
