Transformed media landscape aims to help people who wants to send messages that can get out
to anywhere in the world. When suspicions of voters suppression surfaced a plan came out to video
the process or the voting itself using phones to take photos or videos that might help in proving or
calling out the voter’s suppression. People with phones that has not the features to take photos and
videos were not only there to vote out to also help ensure the sanctity of the votes. This sense as a
citizen observation, they’re all on that together. Now that innovation is happening anywhere people
tend to take this for granted that we are all in this together. Now that media is increasingly social,
we have the largest increase of expressive capabilities. There I so much we can do using the media.
The video tackled how the innovation of media evolved through simple text, prints, invented
devices and now advanced technology. Media landscape before was all about sending the same
message using different medium like newspaper etc.

The media we had during the 20th century was simple and not as broad, the media that was
good at creating conversations were no good as creating and vice versa. Conversations is limited
and if you do have to address a group you get the same message and then distribute it. What
changed? The internet was first one to support both creating a good conversation as well as having
a group. Everything migrates through the internet gaining access to every available media. People
who can see that can now gather together and interact with each other. In this platform we can
produce and consume at the same time. People in the internet can send news live and in real time
to almost everyone and anywhere in the world. Making everyone to have access to information and
also form, cooperate with each other to help.

This change in media, changed and affected things greatly resulting of the country’s internet shut
down or having a firewall, barricading, filtering, and limiting their people’s interaction around the
world. In result to all of that, they had no choice but to shut down their while access to some parts
of the internet entirely.

The Classic media during the 20th century send the same messages and reaches targeted people,
needing a large amount of producers that requires a lot more expenses. All of that ended and we
are now in a time where media is global, social, and cheap. This change allows the audience to talk
back. But the biggest change is that everyone has connection to people they want. The
communication is as complex as the number of participants. As far as this change, there is no
turning back to limited media and resources.

A healthy interaction in the internet requires broad amount of understanding, and not be
controlling of the media that is being released allowing people to interact with each other and
letting them have the freedom that the internet can give. Regarding as to how Obama and his team
handled the issue that spurred in a website. They showed the kind of discipline that it takes to make
mature use of the media. We should all think of ways how to use the media in a helpful manner, it’s
up to us on how we will take good advantage of the platform that is now readily available to almost
every capable person with media. Discipline and responsibility should be one of the few things we
should practice while using the media.
