Research report proposal

 A well written proposal is blue print for the research


investigation.
 It is the presentation of an idea you wish to pursue
before actual research study.
 You should explain in proposal what you want do in
such a way that even non specialist can understand.
Basic guideline for preparation of a
research proposal

Title
 It should be on the top of the first page.
 It clear about the report study area so should be clear
and distinct.
1. Background of study

 Research proposal is about guideline of your


research report.
 You should give clear, simple and short introduction
about your research study.
 Make simple and clear concept of your subject
matter that you are going to have research.
2. Objective of study

 Research proposal should properly state the


objectives of the study.
 What are the objectives of your research should be
written in point wise in specific way.
 Your research report should not have many
objectives, just 2 or 3 otherwise it make your report
vague.
3. Rationale/Significance of study

 This section indicate why there is need of study or


research on the particular topic.
 This section create perspective for looking at the
problem and answer the following question
 Why is study important?
 To whom is important?
 What benefit will occur if your study is done?
4. Review of literature

 It is the basis of developing theoretical framework.


 It provide the background and context for the
research problem.
 A brief survey of the related literature is presented
and should be pertinent and relevant.
5. Research methodology

5.1 Research design


5.2 Population and sampling procedure
5.3 Nature and source of data
5.4 Research framework and definition of variables
5.5 Methods of Analysis
6. Limitation of study

 This section of report clear about the limitation of


the study.
 Research work itself is vague and ambiguous.
 In this section researcher state its limitation about
the number of variables used, numbers of year of
data used, Geographic concentration etc
references

 This section include the references about the


literature you reviewed.
 You have to keep the running list of all the
references.
 You will be required to include this list at the end
of proposal which include all the books, journals,
articles, internet sources, personal communication
etc.
