This document provides guidelines for writing a research proposal. A research proposal outlines the key elements of a proposed research study, including the background/rationale, objectives, literature review, methodology, limitations, and references. Specifically, it should clearly state the objectives, explain why the study is important and beneficial, review relevant previous literature, describe the research design and methods that will be used, and acknowledge any limitations of the proposed study. The proposal allows researchers to present their research idea and get approval before beginning the actual study.

A well written proposal is blue print for the research
investigation. It is the presentation of an idea you wish to pursue before actual research study. You should explain in proposal what you want do in such a way that even non specialist can understand. Basic guideline for preparation of a research proposal
Title It should be on the top of the first page. It clear about the report study area so should be clear and distinct. 1. Background of study
Research proposal is about guideline of your
research report. You should give clear, simple and short introduction about your research study. Make simple and clear concept of your subject matter that you are going to have research. 2. Objective of study
Research proposal should properly state the
objectives of the study. What are the objectives of your research should be written in point wise in specific way. Your research report should not have many objectives, just 2 or 3 otherwise it make your report vague. 3. Rationale/Significance of study
This section indicate why there is need of study or
research on the particular topic. This section create perspective for looking at the problem and answer the following question Why is study important? To whom is important? What benefit will occur if your study is done? 4. Review of literature
It is the basis of developing theoretical framework.
It provide the background and context for the research problem. A brief survey of the related literature is presented and should be pertinent and relevant. 5. Research methodology
5.1 Research design
5.2 Population and sampling procedure 5.3 Nature and source of data 5.4 Research framework and definition of variables 5.5 Methods of Analysis 6. Limitation of study
This section of report clear about the limitation of
the study. Research work itself is vague and ambiguous. In this section researcher state its limitation about the number of variables used, numbers of year of data used, Geographic concentration etc references
This section include the references about the
literature you reviewed. You have to keep the running list of all the references. You will be required to include this list at the end of proposal which include all the books, journals, articles, internet sources, personal communication etc.
