Services and goods both are different concept. Services is a non-physical object. We cannot see
services but we can feel about it. So, when we are talking about service marketing then we have
to take steps towards promoting the service. Though it is a burger shop, so it is both services and
goods. So here are the eight components of marketing mix I have to follow in order to achieve
the targeted goals.
1. Product: Means what we will offer to the customer. We have to make sure about product
quality before serving. If product is good then it enhance the goodwill but if product is bad then
it will reduce reputation. So, we have to make careful planning.
2. Price: We must have to decide right price for the products. Because if consumer got higher
satisfaction about these products then he/she will buy more. But the pricing should be value
based. So, price should be like giving full satisfaction of purchasing these products.
3. Place: There must be place utility. When the foods are produced nearby then it increases the
chances of ordering more of it.
4. Promotion: A detailed market strategy play's a big role in the market. So, if proper marketing
is done then there might be chance that product goodwill will be enhance.
5. People: People means those person who serve products. So, proper training should be
provided to those person. Like how to deal with customer etc.
6. Processes: It means what will we served should be like meeting with our target segment.
Process mapping ensure that we were producing best quality of services.
7. Physical evidence: It means how they represent themselves. How they treat themselves. It
plays a big role. Customer is always visit those place where staff is representative.
8. Productivity and technology: By using technology for production and service will increase the
productivity rate.
Now productivity and quality are also one of the services marketing strategy.

Bata is one of the leading multinational company. So, they have some responsibilities for their
employees. Appraisal for the performance of the employees will increase their interest
effectively. Performance appraisal process is the rate an employee's work performance. It is a
critical process. So, there should be a few important steps for a precise result, which should be
followed properly. The process consists of following steps:
Establishing standards:
Goals and objectives are set by the management or the senior manager. The management or the
manger will the set the benchmark or standard to assess the worker's performance against the
standard which is set.
Communicating the standards:
The management must convey the standards to the workers in the firm. It helps them to realize
the amount of output which is anticipated from a worker.
Measuring actual performance:
It is the output delivered by the worker in his work place. This step is very important which helps
to gauge the performance. Comparison of actual performance with desired performance: The
output delivered by the worker is compared to the desired output or the standard performance.
The comparison gives an insight about the deviation from the standard to the actual output.
Feedback:
The important step which helps the employee to get idea about his or her performance. The
manger should give constructive feedback that will helps the worker to improve his performance.

A recent purchase that has made was a smartphone which involved different aspects to it before
buying. Firstly asking my friends about which smartphone they use and what are the different
price ranges. Additionally, going to different stores and enquiring about the different kinds
relating to the specifications of it were also worth noting. Extended decision making is the whole
process which involves a lot of searching and enquiring about a high cost purchase to be made
along with different complexities of evaluation. This process involves a lot of uncertainty
regarding the correctness of the decision. Limited decision making is done for the mid cost
products which doesn’t involve a heavy in depth research regarding the product.
For the purchase of phones, it would involve extended decision making since it would require a
lot of research from the fellow mates and all around. Since it is a heavy cost product, enough
research and time has to be spent on it in order to reduce the uncertainty regarding the final
decision made.

A company is run by the decision it makes. Weather it is from the management or the employees.
The participation of both of them will make it much easier to make a decision. There are basically
three ways by which a management can follow and manage the employees. These are given
bellow:
1. Autocratic
2. Free Rein
3. Democratic

Autocratic:
Autocratic management style is the one where the leader of the team has the decision making
power entirely and all the commanding power lies in the leader only. In this the team members
can inspire of having the ideas and creative points cannot put them forward to the leader in
charge.
Free Rein:
Free Rein management style is the one where the leader totally trust the team members or the
employees to perform the work themselves. All he does is to concentrate on the intellect part of
his work and the employees focus on the management aspect of the work. The team members
are welcomed to give their ideas and put forward their views in front of the leader and work best
for the organizational interest.
Democratic:
Democratic management style is the one where the ideas are welcomed by the leaders but the
decision lies in the hand of the leader. The employees or team members are welcomed to put in
their efforts for the project and they are given the opportunity to get headed by their leader. It
keeps the employees motivated and satisfied. This type of leadership style requires highly skilled
employees who have the ability to work with the team and have an optimistic work attitude.
In Nestle Bangladesh, the management follows the Democratic style. Though it has a lot of
advantages, there are some disadvantages also. The advantages and disadvantages are given
below:

1) Advantages:
I. Employees can exchange their ideas with the leaders.
II. It improves job satisfaction.
III. Labor absence is reduced for this.
IV. Employees are more encouraged.
V. The final output is improved.

Page | 7
2) Disadvantages:
I. It is a time consuming process.
II. The leadership style is ineffective during crisis situations.

Though Nestle Bangladesh is a multinational company, so by incorporating democratic style will

all the employees could express their valuable thinking with the management.

Answer: 4b
I would recommend these three levels of management:
Bottom-Level Management:
Bottom-level management, are in contact with non-management employees, often serving as
supervisors or retail managers, or in other capacities that involve the day-to-day business
operations. Sometimes their tasks include scheduling, human resources activities and disciplinary
measures.
Mid-Level Management:
Mid-level management, serve as intermediaries between lower-level managers and the highest
level within the management hierarchy. Though they may still be involved in the daily official
operations, but they sometimes depend on the input of first-level managers. Mid-level managers
are basically general managers.
Upper-Level Management:
Upper-level management are the top executives in a company usually including chief executive
officers, chief financial officers and other top leaders responsible for developing the company's
vision and making the executive decisions that affect the organization's future.
By providing the details of how the three levels will be structured, I will justify how it becomes
imperative to have three layers of management so that the employees who are customer facing
are able to focus on their jobs with mid-level managers acting as a bridge between the top
management and line managers and there is enough bandwidth in terms of control and time to
ensure smooth operations and strong strategies to be made. For this it is imperative that line
managers, mid-level managers and top executives have enough bandwidth to do their own tasks.
The various responsibilities of each level should also be explained in details to the team members
to highlight that all levels will have enough work to do and it will ensure efficient operations and
effective management and leadership.
