Abstract
The present technological developments make us to find and fabricate new materials to replace the
existing materials. Also, the need for environmentally friendly, easily biodegradable material plays
prime role in determining the raw materials. In this experiment Flax and Kenaf fibres are used as
the suspending matrix to form hybrid composite with Vinyl VBR Resin and Epoxy Resin along
with a filler. Hand layup technique is carried out in this work to fabricatecomposite and laminating
and analyzing it to find its properties and its applications in both robotic sector and in industry.

Abstract— TIG welding is an electric arc welding process in which the fusion energy is produced
by an electric arc burning between the work piece and the tungsten electrode. Out of many arc
welding processes used in industries, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) is widely employed as it
has many inherent advantages like, it can weld most steels, including stainless steel (SS), nickel
alloys, titanium, aluminum, magnesium, copper, brass, bronze and even gold. In this thesis an
attempt is made to maximize the tensile strength of the weld joints by using Taguchi L16
orthogonal experimental design. The process parameters considered for optimization are the
welding current in Amps, welding voltage in volts, welding speed in mm/sec, gas flow rate in LPM.

ABSTRACT
Natural fiber composites are now a days being used in various applications to increase the
strength and optimize the weight and the cost of the product. Hybridization is a process of
incorporating synthetic fiber with natural fiber to get better material properties. In this
connection an investigation has been carried out to make better utilization of tamarind seed
powder and vinyl ester for making value added products. The objective of the present
research work is to study the mechanical properties of tamarind seed and vinyl ester
reinforced epoxy based composites. Experiments are carried out as our ASTM standards to
find the mechanical properties of the composite materials and the effect of fiber loading and
length on mechanical properties like tensile strength, flexural strength, impact strength of the
composite were taken in to consideration. Vinyl ester coatings provide the ultimate in
chemical and solvent resistance. These coatings typically exceed both polyester and epoxy in
corrosion resistance, temperature resistance and elongation(toughness).we used this material
in bus seat structure comparing ABS(acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and TSF(tamarind seed
filler) and VE(vinyl ester) composites. Buses are always one of the main source of the public
transport. Bus seat can also cause severe injury to the passengers so we tested the passenger
seat of the bus using these components to ensure the seat strength and occupants safety
during accidents. The stress and deformation values of both ABS and TSF-VE composites
were compared and the TSF-VE composite was found to give better results.
