INTRODUCTION
The Common Management Admission Test is conducted by the National Testing
Agency (NTA). The CMAT registration Form is available from the first week of Decem-
ber every year. The aspirants who hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline are
eligible to register for the CMAT exam. The application form will be available only in
online mode. The examination is conducted in the online Computer Based Test (CBT)

CMAT Exam : Overview


Common Management Admission Test is a National Entrance Examination to take

CMAT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


To register for the exam, you need to know the eligibility criteria of CMAT. If you meet
the qualification, age limit, and other eligibility you can apply. Here are the details of
all the eligibility to apply for CMAT.

• The students who successfully completed the Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
from recognized University/ Institute/ College are eligible to apply.
• Aspirants appearing for the final year of Graduation (10+2+3) whose result will
be declared before starting of admission can also apply for CMAT Computer
Based Test.
• The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
• There is no age limit for appearing in CMAT.

CMAT APPLICATION FORM


The registration form of CMAT is available in online mode. The students can get the
application form from the NTA CMAT official website. The online application process
commences in the first week of December and it will end in the last week of January.
To complete the application, you need to follow some steps given below.

Required Documents to complete the CMAT Application Form online:

Candidates should have the following documents and information ready with them
before filling the application form of CMAT.

• Scanned coloured Photographs (between 10 kb to 200 kb)


• Scanned Signature (between 4 kb to 30 kb)
• Qualification Details (10th, 12th, Graduation)
• Personal Details (Aadhaar Card, Pan Card)
• Valid Email ID and Phone Number
• Payment Details (Credit/ Debit Card, Netbanking, UPI, PayTM)

Steps to fill CMAT Application Form:

Step 1: As a new candidate, you must go to the ‘New Candidate Registration’. This
will redirect you to the CMAT Registration Form.

Step 2: On this page, you will need to enter all the personal details (Name, Email ID,
Phone Number), create a password, and choose the security question and answer to
complete the first step of the CMAT registration form.

NOTE: Upon completion of the form, you will receive a notification from NTA-CMAT
informing you of your CMAT application form number.

Step 3: With the help of login credentials (Application Number and Password) you can
login to the application form page.

Step 4: Follow the instructions carefully and fill in all the remaining personal details
and you must select four test cities for CMAT to appear (Once the test centre selected,
can not be changed in future).

Step 5: Next, you have to upload all the required documents in a prescribed format.

Step 6: Then you have to pay the CMAT Exam fees online using Credit/ Debit card, Net
banking, PayTM, UPI, e-Challan and other payment methods.

CMAT EXAM CENTERS


There are 104 exam cities and 245 exam centres are available across the country
for CMAT. The Common Management Admission Test is held during the first week of
February. All CMAT exam centers are assigned specific codes so that the candidates
can immediately know the code assigned to them by any CMAT test city. The name
of the Common Management Admission Test city is assigned to the test examinee
and will be marked on the CMAT Admit Card with the test location. The state wise list

CMAT ADMIT CARD


CMAT Admit Card can be downloaded from the official website from the second week
of February. The admit card is only available in online mode and can be downloaded
until exam day. CMAT Admit Card will not be sent as a hard copy to the candidate’s
registered address. The step-by-step process on how to download the CMAT Admit
Card is shared below.

Step 1: First, visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Step 2: Find and click the “Download Admit Card” link from the bottom of the page. It
will redirect you to the hall ticket download page.

Step 3: From there, you have to enter the application number, password and security
pin/ captcha. After entering the required information, click on the “Sign In” button.

Step 4: It will take you to your dashboard page. In the dashboard page, you have to
click the “Download Admit Card” button.

Step 5: The CMAT Admit Card will automatically download and save it on your local
PC drive.

Step 5: Take a printout of the downloaded admit card and check if all the required
details are available.

When going to appear for the Common Management Admission Test , you must carry
the hard copy of admit card with you. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to enter the
exam hall.

NOTE: Note that only those who have pre-registered can download the CAT Admit
Card. If any applicant is unable to download his/her CMAT Admit Card, he/she can

CMAT EXAM PATTERN


The National Testing Agency has been conducting the Common Management Admis-
sion Test on online computer-based mode. Similarly this year also they are going
to follow the same pattern. CMAT Exam Pattern consists of 100 questions of MCQs
and divided into 4 sections. The overall composition of the CMAT exam pattern is
as follows:

CMAT EXAM SYLLABUS


CMAT syllabus deals with four CMAT exam sections. However, the CMAT syllabus is
not strictly defined in advance by the AICTE or the National Testing Agency (NTA). To

CMAT ANSWER KEY


NTA will release the CMAT Answer Key in the second week of February. The National
Testing Agency will display the CMAT answer key and response sheet along with the
objection form to challenge the answer key of CMAT on the official website. Along
with the CMAT answer key, the NTA will display the question paper of CMAT attempted
by the aspirant. Candidates who are not satisfied with the CMAT answer keys can
challenge them by filling up the online application form.

Steps involved to download the CMAT answer key:

Step 1: Open the CMAT NTA website and click the link “CMAT Answer Key”.

Step 2: Download the answer key in pdf format by using CMAT login credentials
(Application Number, Password, Security Pin).

Step 3: Once got the answer key, compare with your attempted questions.

NOTE: If you are not satisfied with the correct answer key as given on the CMAT web-
site, you can challenge the answer key by filing a claim after paying a fee of Rs.1000
per question.

CMAT RESULT
The NTA will release the CMAT Result in the third week of February. The result will
be released in the afternoon along with the scorecard. The score card can be down-
loaded from the official exam website on the result date. You can only know the CMAT
result online. The hard copy of the result/ scorecard will not be sent to your registered
address.

CMAT results will be compiled based on the final CMAT answer keys. If you are not
satisfied with your CMAT scores, your CMAT scorecard cannot be re-evaluated/
rechecking. NTA provides the facility for all test takers to challenge the official CMAT
answer key before announcing the CMAT result.

The following is the step-by-step procedure for downloading NTA CMAT Exam
Results and Score Card:

Step 1: Go to the official NTA website.

Step 2: Click the “View Result/ Score Card” button.

Step 3: It will carry you to the Result page. From there, you have to enter the Applica-
tion Number, Date of Birth, and Enter Security Pin (case sensitive).

Step 4: After entering the required information, click the “Submit” button.

Step 5: Finally, the electronically generated CMAT scorecard will be downloaded.

NOTE: Note that separate scorecards will not be sent to candidates by email or post.

CMAT CUT OFF


The Institute will list candidates for admission based on the overall CMAT cut off.
Some B-schools may consider the CMAT sectional cut off as category wise/ course

CMAT SELECTION PROCESS


The CMAT exam procedure for MBA admission will start in February after the CMAT
results are announced. There are 1000+ AICTE accredited MBA/ PGDM colleges par-
ticipating in the CMAT exam process as they accept the CMAT exam score on MBA
admission. The CMAT Selection Process has four main stages:

Taking CMAT Exam: The first part of the CMAT exam is based on the candidate’s per-
formance in the CMAT exam, which can be measured by the overall score, percentage
score, and section score in the CMAT exam.

Declaration of Result: The CMAT Result will be available from the first week of Febru-
ary. The CMAT score card includes the overall raw score, sectional score, overall per-
centile, and sectional percentile. The CMAT selection process depends on your place
in the National Merit List. The candidate must also submit their CMAT exam score to
the respective B-School where they have already applied or plan to apply now.

Shortlisting by B-Schools: The next stage of the selection process is a shortlist for
the final admission round based on the CMAT exam score of the B-School where you
applied for MBA Admission. Each participating institute will publish their respective
CMAT cutoff, candidates must meet to qualify to join the particular institute. Upon
qualification, the candidates must appear for the selection procedure of the particular
institution including Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Participate in GD and PI: Many MBA colleges conduct their own GD and PI process
for selecting candidates through the CMAT selection procedure for MBA admission.
CMAT selection procedure for final counselling based on entrance exam score, aca-
demic performance, work experience, and GD & PI round performance. Final admis-
sion offers will be successfully made by B-Schools in May/ June.
