Lesson Plan Day …1… : Date ( 7-6-21 ) Status:
After covid-19 vacation (or zoom classes) today is first day so first I will check copies and position of written
working individually. Then I will start further studies.
Wrapping up copy checking in detail
Lesson Plan Day …2… : Date ( 8 - 6 -21 ) Status:
Unit Introductory Day Before starting the lesson teacher will ask some question from the related topic(branches
of physics). How do they look like? Then teacher will explain the topic branches of physics. Each branch discuss
by teacher with the help of different examples.
Wrapping up
Lesson will be wrapped up by students, give different examples of base and derived
quantities Ask questions.
H.W Draw tables on copies
Lesson Plan Day …5… : Date ( 10-06-21 ) Status:
Now today’s topic is prefixes and scientific notation both topics are interrelated with each other. Teacher will
discuss with the help of different examples. Now teacher will explain on board Double prefixes cannot be used
Wrapping up Divide the students into groups. Give them some prefixes as example. For example, kg

Lesson Plan Day …1… : Date ( 16-6-21 ) Status:
Teacher will give short idea about measuring idea about measuring instrument. Instrument using in their
homes. Then teacher will explain measuring instruments used in the past were not so reliable and accurate as
we use today. e.g. sundial, water clock and other time measuring devices used around 1300 AD were quite
crude. On the other hand, digital clocks and watches used now a-days are highly reliable and accurate.
1) Meter rule Least Count of Meter Rule: “One millimeter is the smallest reading that can be
taken using a meter rule and is called its least count of meter rule”

Lesson Plan Day …2… : Date ( 18 - 6 -21 ) Status:
Today's topic is very very new topic that is vernier calliper so teacher will disscuss its structure and show them.
2)Vernier Calliper “An instrument used to measure small lengths such as internal or external diameter or
length of a cylinder etc is called Vernier Callipers”. Construction: A Vernier Calipers consists of two jaws. One
is a fixed jaw with main scale attached to it. Main scale has centimeter and millimeter marks on it. The other
jaw is a moveable jaw. It has vernier scale having 10 divisions over it such that each of its division is 0.9 mm.
Least Count of Vernier Calipers: “The difference between one small division on main scale division and one
vernier scale division is 0.1 mm. It is called least count (LC) of the Vernier Calipers”.
Wrapping up Lesson will be wrapped up by asking different questions about structure.
Lesson Plan Day …3… : Date ( 23 - 6 -21 ) Status:
Now screw gauge will discuss in class 8 that is more specify and precise then vernier calliper.
3) Screw gauge A simple screw gauge consists of a U-shaped metal frame with metal stud at its one end. A
hollow cylinder (or sleeve) has a millimeter scale over it along a line called index line parallel to its axes. The
hollow cylinder acts as a nut. It is fixed at the end of U-shaped frame opposite to the stud. A thimble has
threaded spindle inside it, as the thimble completes one rotation, the spindle moves 1 mm along the index line. It
is because the distance between consecutive threads on the spindle is 1 mm. This distance is called the pitch of
screw on the spindle. The thimble has 100 divisions around its one end. It is the circular scale of the screw
gauge. As thimble completes one rotation, 100 divisions pass the index line and the thimble moves 1 mm along
the main scale. Thus each division of circular scale crossing the index line moves the thimble through 1/100 mm
or 0.01 mm on the main scale.

Wrapping up Divide the students into groups. Give them some examples of masses.
7) Teacher give summary of “Measuring cylinder is used to measure the volume of a liquid or powdered
substance. It is also used to find the volume of an irregular shaped solid insoluble in a liquid by displacement
method”.
Also do practical in class
Wrapping up student give review of measuring cylinder

Today's topic is related to round off that is new topic SIGNIFICANT FIGURES: “All the accurately known
digits and the first doubtful digit in an expression are called significant figures”. Teacher will discuss rules
about it
Teacher will solve exercise unit 1 with the help of previous learning.
