C. FIBONACCI SEQUENCE
OBJECTIVES:
In this lesson, the students will learn what a Fibonacci sequence is, the relation in the nature, and they
will also learn to find the next term in some Fibonacci styles sequence.

FIBONACCI SEQUENCE
- named after the Italian mathematician Leonardo of Pisa, who was better known by his nickname
Fibonacci.
- starting with 0 and 1, the succeeding terms in the sequence can be generated by adding the
number that came before the term.

The Fibonacci Sequence → 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, …

Explanation in sequencing →0+1=1, 1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+5=8, 5+8=13, 8+13=21, …

Fibonacci observed numbers in F7 13 nature. His most popular contribution
perhaps is the number that is seen in F8 21 the petals of flowers. A calla lily
flower has 1 petal, trillium has 3, F9 34 hibiscus has 5, cosmos flower has 8,
corn marigold has 13, some asters F10 55 have 21, and a daisy can have 34, 55,
or 89 petals. Surprisingly, these F11 89 petals count represent the first
eleven numbers of the Fibonacci F12 144 numbers.
