hamburger rice and potato. The food was delicious. We paid 100,000 for
this meal.

I think there are many things that make a good restaurant such as the
price, the staff and the food. As for me, I prefer delicious food, friendly
staff and cheap prices.

I think people eat in restaurants because of many reasons. Firstly, they

want to hold a party or event. Secondly, they don’t want to cook at
home. I often eat KFC at the weekend. It’s delicious.

Last week, I went to an Italian restaurant with my best friends (to try
some new dishes). I have read an advertisement about the restaurant on
facebook and decided to try it because I had read some good comments

The price is reasonable and the food is delicious, especially, I like the

customers.

restaurant. Next, it’s boring to eat at home all the time and people want
to try something different by going to the restaurant. Next, people can
celebrate special events like birthdays, anniversaries in a restaurant.
Last but not least, some eateries (nhà hàng) offer great and delicious
food and people want to try it.

Now I will tell you about a time I received a gift. Last year, my brother
gave me an iphone on my birthday. It is a smartphone designed by
Apple. It’s handy, convenient and has many functions. I have
downloaded many apps and games to my iphone.
I often use it to surf the Internet, learn English, listen to music and read
e-news. Especially, Google Map is extremely useful when I (need to look
for a location or) get lost. I also make free phone calls and send free text
messages by using some applications.

I feel so excited and joyful. This gift is not only special but also very
useful.

People in Viet Nam give presents on many occasions such as on

birthday parties, opening ceremonies, on women’s day, teacher’s day,
when a baby is born and so on. People give presents to show love,
express their feelings, say thank you, sorry or share happiness with
friends and relatives. Some common gifts in Vietnam are flowers,
clothes, books. Last week, I gave some flowers to my mother on her
birthday. She was so thankful and surprised.

🍉Now I'm going to tell you about a bad weather experience I have had

🍉Last month, I travelled to Da Nang with my friends. The weather

forecast said that it would be sunny and warm for the whole week (suốt
cả tuần). So we planned to visit Hoi An old quarter, swim at the beach or
take part in some outdoor activities.

🍉But at the time we arrived in Da Nang, the sky was dark and within 5
minutes (trong vòng 5 phút), it started raining heavily. There was also
thunder and lightning. We took a taxi to our hotel and instead of going
out, we had to stay at home to watch TV and play cards. The next day, it
still rained cats and dogs (mưa lớn) and some streets were flooded
(đường bị ngập). When we went out for dinner/ to have dinner, we had
to wear raincoat or bring an umbrella. It didn't stop raining until the third
day. And we finally could enjoy our trip. It was a rare experience when
we travel but I felt thankful and delighted because at least (ít nhất) we
still had 2 days to discover Da Nang

🍉Human activities have a negative impact on the weather and climate.

People burn down rainforests, build factories, destroy nature. This
results in (dẫn tới) air pollution, water pollution, global warming,
changing in climate and so on. I think governments and scientists should
promote some activities to raise awareness of (nâng cao nhận thức về)
protecting our environment.

I think living in an urban environment is quite convenient. There are

top schools or find a job with high and stable income (job with high
salary).

What should people do to improve the quality of life?

Basically, I think there are several ways people should do to improve the
quality of life in big cities. For example, they can plant more trees, use
public transport such as bus and train (instead of personal vehicles), turn
off electrical devices when not (in) use, use paper bags (instead of
plastic bags). I think governments and scientists should (promote some
activities to) raise awareness of (nâng cao nhận thức về) protecting our
environment.
