A. Type of Parallelogram. (Describing Data)

The developer would like to know what type of parallelogram the playground will be. They have a list of
possible data that can be obtained. Determine whether the given statement is a square, rectangle or
rhombus. Be sure to complete the items having multiple answers. (1 point each)
Property Type/s of Parallelogram

1. All sides are congruent Square and Rhombus

2. All angles are right angles Square and Rectangle

3. Opposite sides are congruent Square, Rhombus, and Rectangle

4. Diagonals are congruent Square, Rhombus, and Rectangle

5. Diagonals bisect each other Square, Rhombus, and Rectangle

6. Diagonals are perpendicular Square, Rhombus, and Rectangle

7. Opposite sides are congruent Square, Rhombus, and Rectangle

8. Consecutive angles are supplementary Square, Rhombus, and Rectangle

9 – 10. If they decided to follow the

properties in 2 and 5 but not 1, what shape
should the playground be?

B. Calculation
If the map shows the following shapes, for what value of x the figure becomes the given parallelogram?
Show your solution. (2 points each)

1. Rectangle Solution:

(5x+2)+3x=90

8x+2=90
(5x + 2)0
3x0
8x=88

X=11

2. Rhombus Solution:
Solving the triangle:

(8x+7)+(3x+6)+90=180

(3x + 6)0 11x+103=180

11x=77
(8x + 7)0
X=7

3. Rectangle Solution:

8x+3=4x+7

4x=4

X=1

C. Properties of Parallelogram (Describing Data)

A map shows the area of a playground that will be constructed. While making the plan, the developer
must make sure that it has the properties of parallelogram for the remaining space available to be
maximized. To do this, he needs to follow the listed properties of parallelogram.

Questions Answers

1. If the developer applies the Parallelograms

Diagonals Theorem, what conclusion shall be
made? (1 pt)

2. If the developer applies the “Consecutive

Angles Theorem”, what conclusion shall be
made? (1 pt)

3. If angle E = 11x -6 and angle M = 7x + 14, 11x-6=7x+14

what must be the value of x, that makes 3x=20
GEOM a parallelogram? (2 points) X=20/3

Therefore the value of x must be x=20/3 for

GEOM to be a parallelogram .
