The Impacts of Flood

Flood occurs everywhere. Moreover, in rainy season, flood can easily occur. Flood
is an overflow of water that submerges land which is normally dry. It may occur as an
overflow water from water bodies, such as a river or lake, in which the water escaping its
usual boundaries. It can also occur due to an accumulation of rainwater on saturated
ground in an area flood. It causes misery for humans.
Flood causes lots of houses to get destroyed. The flood of course can break down
houses moreover if the houses do not have high building. It enables the water to enter
inside the house and to bring all properties in the houses. It makes people suffer a
financial loss. They must rebuild or even build a new house for living. They also need
buy the properties. They definitely need a lot of money for that.
Flood also gives many diseases for people. The cold weather absolutely affects the
humans’ body. A few people have cough, cold, and fever. It also causes skin diseases.
Moreover, after flood, the disease of dengue fever raises. It is because flood causes the
trash to come up everywhere. Most people have died by dengue fever.
Floods make people leave their house to save themselves. Because flood
suddenly occurs, people leave their house without preparation and only bring the clothes
they are wearing. Then starve comes up as the new problem as the result of the flood.
Many kinds of aid have been given to the victims of flood such as food, clothes,
medicine and other needs. Flood also constrains traffic and some activities. Children
who become victim of the flood cannot study for a while. People cannot go to work also.
Flood really causes impacts which make people suffer. To solve this problem, the
governments have improved the system of drainage. However, flood still occurs. It’s not
only the governments who think and act to prevent flood. People should be the same.
Start from ourselves, keep the river or lake clean from trash and always throw the trash
into the trash can. Planting trees or plants in front of the house will give the same
advantage. People should want to clean the drainage around the residence. The
governments and people should work together for preventing flood and for creating
better life.
