Task 1

Write your answer in a separate page provided.

1. In the event of this pandemic due to COVID-19, how did it affect the Liturgical practices
of the Catholic Church? List down 3 to 5 changes/modifications that you have seen,
heard, or observed?
-The religious practices of hundreds of millions of people are undergoing profound changes in
response to the COVID-19 pandemic caused by a new coronavirus. The crisis has prompted many
religious leaders to appeal to their followers to not only take safety precautions but also to
embrace their spirituality to help confront the health, social, and economic challenges ahead.

Hand-holding and sharing communion in Christian churches, and touching or kissing religious
artifacts in synagogues, are examples of close contact expressions of faith. In many religious
venues, such acts are now prohibited.

2. How did the Catholic Church respond to the spiritual needs of the people during this
pandemic through Liturgical celebrations?
-The current trend among Church leaders appears to be to relieve believers of their obligation to
attend Mass. However, this isn't the only spiritual issue that needs to be addressed. People are
understandably concerned, and they require pastoral comfort as well as practical spiritual
assistance. It is imperative that we pray. Our relationship with God and his Church must be
strengthened. We should go to the Lord personally, praying in church before the Blessed
Sacrament, observing "social distancing" while developing our connection with God, even if it is
prudent not to congregate in large groups in churches. It is critical for our own well-being that
we express our anxieties to God and ask for his help in rescuing us.

3. During this pandemic, how do you think you and your family can exercise full, active,
and conscious participation in the liturgical celebrations?
-Watch the live-streamed Internet broadcast or the mass broadcast.
-Pray and meditate on the Mass readings.
-Pray and meditate on the Mass's meaning.
-Make a Spiritual Communion with your friends and family.
-Make a "Spiritual Confession" during this time.
-Pray for those who have died because they were unable to attend a public memorial ceremony.
